My hair tangles very easily at the nape of my neck and it is quite painful to comb it out and takes a bit of time. This is a fine tooth comb and it slides right through my hair! Even the nape of my neck. I did run into a snag and thought that I might have broken a tooth because this comb feels very fragile but it didn't break. I love the way my hair looks and feels! It is a great comb for everyday use. I'm not sure how it will work on wet hair. I would like to see information on caring for the comb; such as proper cleaning and do you need to put oil on it and when. Review: Awesome comb - Absolutely love this. Great comb and easy to clean. I used a comb rather than a brush as i hate cleaning brushes this fixes it.

Wonderful oil distributing comb
Love love love it. I currently have very short hair [thanks cancer] and I got tired of dealing with all the air products on the market, too many choices in shampoo and conditioner, so I decided I want to go shampoo free, so I needed a good comb designed to distribute the hair oils through my hair. The comb is small, so it wouldn't be good for long thick hair, but for the 2 inch fluff I currently have it is perfect. The teeth of the comb are what I would consider fine, and it feels more gentle than the same fine toothed plastic combs that you normally find. I know that this type of comb is used in Japan and China to distribute floral oils through the hair, but it works magnificently with just my natural hair oils. When my hair finishes growing in I will get a larger and more coarse comb, but for now this is absolutely perfect.

Not what I expected, but still a nice comb
This is a very small comb. I was actually expecting it to look like the comb in the photo (a little bit wider and with a pouch), but I only received mine with a box. The comb has beautiful carvings and seems to be durable against water despite being made from wood. Because of its size, I think it's more suitable for use for people with straight, thin hair. Although I have used it on my curly hair (but only when wet). I once read in an internet article that Tsuge combs are best at distributing the oils we use on our hair. Although I am unsure whether this comb is effective in this task or not, I believe that it was able to properly spread the oil products I use on my hair (though doing so was very time consuming because of its little coverage).

Well-crafted smaller comb, perfect for fine hair
This is a very well-crafted, slightly smaller, wooden version of the plastic rat-tail comb so common in North American beauty shops and hair salons. It completely eliminates the issue of static electricity, and is ideal for straight, fine hair. It cleans and de-tangles hair better than other combs as well. Some reviews took issue with the smaller size, but for straight, fine hair the standard enormous comb just isn't necessary. I would not recommend it for curly hair. For me, however, it is absolutely perfect.

The top part broken off after 3 weeks.
Was really liking the comb until the top part that was initially glued on broke off. I don’t think I can afford to chance on a $60 handmade tsuge comb, and purchased a one piece sandalwood comb from China for $12.
