FYI anyone who says it doesn’t go all the way in. Sometimes there is a metal ring that’s stuck on there. I didn’t see it at first but I got it off with pliers and it slipped right on.

This part was half the price I would have paid on the GE site. I was thrilled that it arrived so quickly and it was exactly what I ordered. It is now on my dryer and working perfectly!

I bought a used GE stacked washer and dryer from a woman who was selling it simply because the knob had broken. This was a cheap investment to return that unit to good working condition. It fits very well and can be turned with confidence.

Best replacement part ever! The old one (10 years) cracked where it contacted the peg, so it would no longer operate the machine. I turned the bare peg with pliers for a few days before buying this one. The new one is reinforced with a metal sheath, exactly where the old plastic one broke. It also looks slightly better than the one I replaced. I checked and this is, in fact, the same part # as the original for this machine.

Originally, I faced the same problem as the reviewer who gave this product a 1 star. I had difficulty fitting the knob over the post so that it would end up flush against the dryer panel.But then I realized that there was a metal part on the post that I had to remove with needle nosed pliers. That metal part came on the replacement knob and was keeping the knob from fitting over the post.After I removed the problematic part, the replacement knob fit perfectly snugly and was flush against the panel.I'm giving this part 4 stars instead of 5 because, yes, it is a flimsy plastic piece, it is overpriced, and it came with *NO DIRECTIONS* which created the confusion that I faced for the better part of the day.But yes, it is worth every penny in the sense that GE will charge you 3 times as much for the same flimsy plastic piece, and charge you for shipping, and for taxes.

I bought this to replace my broken dryer knob which had “1318591” imprinted on the back. It was a perfect replacement and leaves no gap between the dryer and knob.

Unfortunately it doesn't fit flush to our machine. Though it turns our dial it does not attach to the post properly. Doesn't look right. We contacted the sellers weeks ago - they've emailed back and then nothing. They were to resend us a knob - waiting for reply

The item came super quick, which I appreciate. As another reviewer stated, it doesn't come packaged as shown, just in a padded envelope. (No biggie!) The original knob that I'm replacing, doesn't have the metal insert that this one does, and in theory, adding the metal insert is a great idea - it would prevent the casing from cracking; however, it doesn't allow for me to push this all the way down, so it sits flush like the original. Now, there's an awkward gap between the knob and the dryer itself. Certainly not the end of the world, but I guess I was hoping it would fit better. Thanks!
