Ernie Ball Super Long Scale Slinky Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, 45-105 Gauge (P02849)

I've played bass in bands for 50 years, so I've used a few different brands of strings in my life. These Ernie Ball strings are some of the best I've used. They're simultaneously bright and articulate, but their bottom-end is clear as well. I play in a classic rock cover band and we might play a country-flavored song and then turn around and play something by Journey or Metallica or a Motown tune, so my bass strings have to be adequate for each genre, as I don't have time to switch guitars during a set.The strings last a long time. I might change strings once a year, or even less (I frankly like the sound of a string after it's been played on for six months or longer) and from what I can hear, the stings' clarity doesn't diminish much over months of use.There are many brands of strings on the market, but I don't have the time to sift through all the offerings, so I want a string that provides me the consistent and versatile tone I need. These Ernie Ball strings meet my criteria, so I use them on every bass I have, which at current count is eleven.Buy a set; you won't be disappointed.

Great sound, great quality.

Put these on my Lakland 5 string and they sound great. Need to be extra long to string through the body. Resonance is excellent also.

I have always used Ernie Ball strings on my guitars for 47 years, and never had a bad set. I started playing bass 20 years ago and have a few in my collection now, so needed new bass strings for a gig. These were Super Long Scale so the winding for my B string went over the nut, and once I set my intonation, I was good to go. The price is fair, tone is amazing, and I am very pleased. I have been using Earnie Ball Regular Slinky strings exclusively for years, mostly on my three main electric basses (Human Base Max 6 string, Lakland Skyline 55-60 and Mayones BeExotic 5).I play bass professionally for more than 10 years and I find these strings to have richer tone than most, good growl with decent depth, quick response and pleasant touch - and luckily they're inexpensive and even last relatively long. Good B-String too. I use this particular set to string through the body on the 35" Lakland, works great.No complaints overall, my go-to string.

Thes strings are great for al types of styles and tuned up and stayed tuned. Real crisp and growlers. I use these on both of my basses.

At this price there isn’t a better or more consistent string.
