My hubby is obsessed with this scratcher. He's a big bear of a man with itchy skin and has broken many back scratchers in his day. This has stood the test of time! He uses this DAILY and has had it for over two years now. We just ordered a second one for the bedside, so I thought a review was warranted. Very strong and durable. Honestly still looks brand new - the wood itself doesn't scratch easily. It gets the itch real good. Super happy with this purchase especially for the price!

It arrived in good time. Unbroken. The wood, design, and finish is impressive. I like it very much.

Very well-made of sturdy dark reddish brown solid wood - no cracks, splinters, or other imperfections. The business end is composed of six small square protuberances with a flat top; I wouldn’t have figured this to give a robust scratching but it does, plus no broken skin.

the teeth are really short so it is not really that great at "itching" - more like using a ruler to scratch yourself. But it is long so it helps getting to the hard to reach places and seems very sturdy and well made so unlikely to break. The telescoping metal ones are better, but more flimsy, scratchers.

Only drawback, not as portable as the collapsible devices. Very handsome hard wood tool.

It’s heavy-duty, durable and works. My husband is 6’2” and he can’t reach the middle of his back when he has an itch so I’ve bought a few plastic ones in the past but they always end up breaking. This feels very durable and I’m certain it will stand the test of time. Perfect weight and design. Would buy again but I don’t think I’ll need to.

Perhaps not quite “ rough enough” on end ( smooth claw), but… this thing is sturdy, well made, crafted wonderfully, and a mist ( ive broken extended and rake back scratches often.. on my back… but not this one!) beautiful wood too!

I was hesitant to purchase this due to conflicting reviews about the sharpness of the scratcher's teeth. Some claim it's too sharp and some claim it's too dull. In reality this is subjective. I've only had this for about a week and used it 4-5 times. Imo it gave me just the right amount of scratch: sharp but not too sharp and gave my back the perfect relief. Actually it's a little more on the sharp side. It's certainly not dull. If you find it too sharp, you can just gently scratch and it would still provide the relief you seek without harming your skin. The length is just perfect to reach my lower back or anywhere that needs scratching. It's sturdy, made of good quality material, and is attractive. I just have to be careful not to drop it based on reviews I read that it can break if dropped on to the hard floor.*Update* I just noticed a tiny splinter on the side of the hand. I yanked it out and now I have to sand it down. Not too happy about it but it is a minor imperfection I can fix without having to return it.
