Excellent Product!
The media could not be loaded. I thought of buying a vacuum sealer machine but I saw this product and I thought why not giving it a try. Best decision ever!!! you just need to place the pump in the right position so you have to try quite a few times but it does a magnificent job, the pump is really powerful even though it is tiny. You can see in the video how it pumps out the air so fast. The bags are somehow a bit difficult to clean but you just need patience, I would suggest including a brush in the kit to get to the corners of the bags. The material of the bags is great though! The kit comes with enough bags to reuse, I actually just label the bags for certain products like in this case pork, so I will use this bag for this produce only. If you hesitate buying this product DON'T. But it NOW!!! Really affordable and does a great job.

Got this for frequently used dried foods/spices. Works for some, but not all.
I purchased this setup because I was getting into sous vide cooking. I have a different vacuum sealer for meats. But I wanted something for storing dry goods or spices that I use frequently, but didn't want to use the vacuum sealer with one time use of sealing. So far, I have used this new setup with dried and fried garlic, which worked really well. The vacuum seal kept the air out. I also used this with a Japanese 7 spice which is more of a powder. This didn't work as well. The seal didn't want to stay sealed. I tried to keep the spice from getting to the seal, but the granules still found it's way to the seal. It would appear that it was vacuumed, but after a day the bag was obviously just serving the same purpose of a typical Ziploc bag. This system is also requires a sort of technique to use the pump on the seal. You can't just hold the bag and seal flat and press down hard while pumping. You need to press the vacuum on the bag on a flat surface and as you start to pump there should be air in the bag near the seal. As you pump you need to sort of tilt/lift the pump without losing the seal on the bag seal. Otherwise, if you press down hard on the seal while pumping, you won't create a vacuum in the bag. Also, the white clip devices are very helpful in sealing the Ziploc style part. Use them!

So happy I got this!
I used this for the first time tonight... my bestie in cali sent me all these homemade goodies and I want them to last as long as possible, so I put them in the SousBear vacuum sealer bags... I got the manual pump, instead of the electric one, so I don't have to worry about the battery.. lolIt is very easy to use and I'm excited I can now vacuum-pack my foods! The quality of the bags seem to be very good...Normally, I don't leave reviews, but Co-Founder - Austin from SousBear enclosed a letter inside the box and their customer service appears to be very good as well from reading the letter... For me, I really like the tone of the letter... honest & heartfelt... and them being a small business, I would like to support them by leaving them an honest review...This is the first time using them, so I have not tried to wash the pump nor the bags, so I cannot say anything about that, but I'm guessing it's like washing a regular ziplock bag.I had looked at a variety of brands, but as I normally do, I ran it through fakespot.com and I'm pretty sure it was at least a "B" rating regarding the "honesty/authenticity" of the reviews...I love manually vacuuming out the air... there's something "organic" about that versus having an electrically-powered vacuum suck out the air... lol... as I was FaceTiming my mother, she was saying I look like a "villager" working on something... lol... (I actually wanted one b/c my mother has one, not this brand, but an electric one... she loves hers... This is one of those "gadgets" that's a must-have in a kitchen, unlike something like a bagel slicer... LOL...)I bought this when the price dropped to $18-something... I think with all the bags and clips with the pump it was worth it.Thank you, SousBear!

Well worth it!
In April of this year, I made the decision to purchase the SousBear bags with pump and have been using them continuously ever since. I am extremely happy with my purchase and have found that the bags are well worth every penny. Although it may take a moment to get the suction going with the pump, it's not a significant enough issue to cause any frustration. The bags have allowed me to keep foods fresh for an entire week, including cut cauliflower! They work perfectly with my Sous Vide and I have yet to experience any issues with the bags going bad. Cleaning the bags is a breeze - I simply rinse them, spray with Dawn power wash, scrub, and rinse again. After turning them inside out to towel dry, I leave them to air dry before storing them again. I just ordered the rechargeable pump, can't wait to try it!

Does not maintain vacuum seal, valve separates from bag
The thin plastic valve does not maintain a seal and sometimes separates from the bag. The bag has a small hole over which the simple valve is placed using adhesive. It may work for short-term storage, but the adhesive-based valve sticker has not been trustworthy for more than a few weeks in my experience. The company contacted me and offered a replacement or refund, along with an eagerness to solve the problem. Good customer service is worth a lot. These bags use quality plastic that imparts no taste to food, including delicate chocolate. But the valve design still is not reliable even after rubbing to verify the seal and no air bubbles after vacuuming. I also think the price is too high when compared with bags that use more robust valve designs for a slightly higher price. All that considered, I think 3 stars is a fair rating.

Bigger is better
I ordered these as I couldn't get the ones I had before and I couldn't be happier! I have discovered that these being a couple inches bigger than my previous ones has been a huge bonus. The vacuum around the item is far better when there is more room in the bag. These are excellent seal. Highly recommend with the hand held rechargeable vacuum sealer.

Great value product
The pump works well, the bags are small so just keep that in mind, but it's a good product for an affordable price

Perfect for sous vide, environmentally conscious, and great for food storage
These bags are great. The vacuum sealer is easy to use. The bags are perfect for sous vide cooking. They easily invert for purposes of cleaning and are thick enough that they will then stand on their own to dry (e.g., sitting on a towel). The bags are also excellent for food storage. Where I had used plain old ziplock bags for freezing in the past, the thawed food would always *look* like it had been frozen. Using the Sous Bear bags, the thawed food looks like it did before it went into the freezer -- much more appetizing, and I expect more flavourful as well. Add to that the benefits of using reusable bags instead of disposable vacuum bags, and you have yourself a great little product. Highly recommended.

Works well, just requires persistence to create suction
I plan to use the large for SousVide cooking so size is ok, but I wish they were a little bigger.Med&smaller ones should help keep cheese, lunch meats etc. fresh.Strong zipper closures.Be aware it can take prolonged/repeated pumping to open the hole flap to get air out of the bag. (I was going to return as defective until watching a YouTube video and saw it can take some effort to get started). Works well and evacuates quickly once it's going. The pump is smaller than expected but works fine. Might be awkward for larger hands(?)Inner/product box was totally beat up/destroyed (shipping box was fine so it got packed that way) - glad I wasn't buying for someone else.

Quick and easy prep for Sous Vide
Very simple and easy to use. I don't think I'd want to reuse the included bas after cooking meat in it, but works very well and good value for the money
