You start by using a small tacking nail. Then wrap fully around it so it cant be seen. When you finish use another nail in an inconspicuous area like underneath.

How many feet is in 500 gram?

I have no idea. It took 6 (500 gram) rolls to patch 2 chairs and a love seat and coffee table.
