Great title for a great book.
Enjoyed this book so much, I bought another copy, and sent it to a friend. These vintage photographs capture a time when life was less stressful and carefree. The age of the subjects, and the subject matter, work together harmonesly. (What's not to love about youthful teenagers, and young adults, enjoying the Art of Skateboarding). It's a perfect match! All of the photographs are large full page black and white photos. Vintage photographs that reflect the time period in which they were taken. For me, it was a feast for the eyes. This book is hardbound and contains a generous amount of quality photographs. It is the perfect coffee table book that guests would love to flip through. It would become the topic of many interesting conversations. It would also make a great gift. Photography lovers of all ages would appreciate it's artistic value.Would I buy this book again? Absolutely! It is a handsome book that is worth more than what it's being sold for. It really is a great value.

Good times
This took me back to my youth, but not in the US. I was a boarder in the UK and was on the bleeding edge of the sport in the early 70’s. Great nostalgia

Hear them holler!
This is a remarkable book. Full flight imagery giving gritty insight into the period of skateboarding in California during the 1970's; this book oozes authenticity. Printed on matt paper, the fact that it is matt makes the noise laden images come alive. When i was skateboarding during the period this is what it was like - makeshift ramps, boarding on the run (evading police), shirtless and free to simply be young and irreverent. I loved the amber glow of the polyU wheels, and as i look at the photographs i can hear the whooping and hollering of guys and girls going at it hard on concrete and bitumen. I love this book. Beautifully designed; the title on the cover is pure logo-esque (embossed no less), the full page bleeds, excellent cropping etc come together to give you a visual smorgasbord of skateboarding from the golden period of amateur concrete flyers killing it big time. Get this book, now.

Captures an era
Hugh Holland has become best known for his photographs of the '70s skate scene. These images capture the activity when it was in its infancy, before becoming commercialised, along with the skill and athleticism of the participants.Whether your interest is in skateboarding or the '70s generally you'll find a lot to like here.
