68-7702 Tank to Bowl Kit for Eljer, Solid Brass

Required and necessary for Eljer toilets, which otherwise rock dramatically with standard tank-to-bowl gaskets.Installed and working with no leaks.This fits 2" flush valves perfectly and comes with all the bolts, washers, and nuts needed to secure it.Standard tank-to-bowl gaskets do NOT provide the stabilizing support that Eljer toilet tanks require - which are the rubber feet seen protruding on either side of the gasket.Will be ordering a second to have on hand as a spare.

I installed this in my Eljer 2197 toilet (made in 1989), using tank to bowl assembly instructions for Eljer 2502. The seal gave a good solid mount on the bowl, and no leaks when flushed. When I started to pull the seal on over the spud nut, at first the bolt holes in the arms on the seal did not line up with the holes in the tank bottom, but as I continued to tug on the seal to get it fully seated all the way around, the holes eventually lined up perfectly. The rubber washers gave a good seal. I reused my old brass bolts because they had a larger diameter head than the included bolts, though the included ones might have worked OK. And I used my old brass washers and wingnuts at bottom instead of the included hex nuts, because I wanted hand-tight to be enforced. I found that getting the bolts in was tricky because of tight clearance to the canister in my tank. I had to put each of the two rubber washers on the bottom of the tank, then put the bolt through it, then screw the bolt through the tight hole in the arm on the seal. This resulted in a nice assembly of the tank plus seal plus rubber washers and bolts, which I could then seat on the bowl and tighten down with washers and wingnuts.

I learned that Elger toilets are no longer being made and (VERY IMPORTANT), none of the universal tank seals fits properly, tried 3 different ones and they all leaked because they were not Eljer specific. Once I got this seal installed, NO LEAK.As an added not, the Eljer design is by FAR the best tank seal design, I'm a handyman, so I've seen this kind of thing before. This seal is top notch quality and should work well.

It fit the Eljer Emblem tank as represented and like the original factory gasket. The support lugs in this design are helpful. I first tried a “universal” gasket from a big box store, but it didn’t fit as well and the tank was difficult to level and not as stable. It’s good to find the correct parts for this classic commode.

The seal, gasket that goes between the tank and the bowl on my 1990's Eljer toilet was worn out and leaking. Of course "universal" type lacks the four stabilizing feet that we needed.This replacement fit perfectly, had all the extra parts needed to install. Plumber did it for free since I bought the part and he was already putting in a new sink. Win!

I had bought a "universal" tank gasket/bolt kit and could not get it to seat correctly on my Eljer Emblem toilet without leaking, even after 2 tries. I bought this kit and it went on with no problems, the tank sat up straight and tight, and no leaks. Don't try to save a dollar or two if you have an Eljer Emblem or related toilet. If the existing gasket look like the one in this kit (wings with little feet), then buy this kit.

Fit was not to bad. Would have been easier if the two support wings had been flipped. Kept wanting to turn slightly. cut and flipped them. Gave me the option to angle the wings slightly to give a more solid fit. Overall its a good product and would buy again.

Thank goodness this fit our old Eljer 0230 toilet. The old bolts were so rusted and began to leak. Thank you Kissler!
