I'm very satisfied with the coat. It is the next best thing to an original FIRST DOWN coat.

I read the reviews on this and similar winter jackets, and decided to try this one. It keeps me nice and warm. I've tested it at 19 degrees F with about 20 mph wind and it still kept me completely warm. It's true that you have to be careful with the zipper, but that's not a problem or a flaw, it's just a limit in all jackets with the overlapping flap design, which keeps the heat in around the zipper. I was worried that the hood might not really keep my ears warm, but that doesn't seem to be an issue either. I especially love that this is extra long. To keep my legs warm, I wear a pair of football socks that go over the knee, just about where the jacket ends. Works great.
