Affordable Quality
I was in need of a new reel but did not want to spend the prices that the local fly shops charge. I was a bit skeptical of this fly reel, based on the price alone, but figured what the heck, I would give it a try. After receiving the reel I was pleasantly surprised as to both the quality and actual appearance of this reel. The lightweight matches my 5wt perfectly and the line stacked in to it looking awesome. Highly recommend this real to anyone - save your money and treat yourself with this.

Absolutely a good purchase!
First off the machine work is great and the finish as well. The only thing I would change is the startup inertia on the drag. The coefficient friction is a little more than other high end reels. I get this, it a low cost reel, but don't let this deceive you. That is the only reason why I'm giving it a 4 stars. I don't have a lot of time spent in the saltwater, but if anything fails in the future I'll repost this review.

Swinging above its class
This reel is great!The drag has minute adjustments and stays dialed in with just a slight touch. I was able to stop runs in rapids on fish that outclassed the Archer 3wt Rod AND 3wt Reel.Excellent construction, great balance and perfect size!I would recommend this one, for sure!

I am impressed with the quality of the reel and love the drag noise
A friend of mine told me about this reel so i ordered one. I have been spin cast fishing for years but just getting into fly fishing. When i received the reel i was impressed by the design and ended up taking the ENTIRE reel thing apart down to the smallest piece trying to figure out how to switch it from right to left. In the end i figured it out and of course it was the last thing I tried that did it. Any way, I am impressed with the quality of the reel and love the drag noise!! Also, bought Angler Dream rod.

Get what you pay for
Nice Looking reel. Drag isn't any good. Either to light or to heavy, and easily knocked off the setting you select. I'd trust it for small streams and Brookies. Rainbows and browns on the Mo would tear this thing up.

No instructions.
Seems to operate smoothly, though the drag is a bit touchy. The product description is confusing. It's a REEL, no spare spool. Worse yet it comes with NO INSTRUCTIONS at all. I figured out how to change to right hand retrieve , but it took a while. One simple illustration seems simple enough, but it's not included.

I bought this fly reel for my son (35 yrs old) he was ecstatic! Couldn’t have gotten him a better present. He had picked this reel out a few months ago and I remembered it. I’m sure he will be testing it out real soon. He’s a fishing fanatic !
