The highest quality patch cables I have tried are these and the Ernie Ball. Some say that you can pry open the ends on the Ernie Ball if you want to shorten one, but I am not doing that and you for sure are not doing that to these. The ends on these are the most low profile that I have encountered so far. The ends have a distinct silver painted lightning bolt symbol on black plastic. The plastic of the cable is a little bit clear which has nice look for pedals that plug on top where the LEDs can reveal the clear plastic. Otherwise the Ernie Ball version is overall more neutral and classy looking just because the ends are chrome rather than plastic. However, the EB cables are generally more expensive in order to get a look that is kind of more generic. Both options are solid choices in the visual style and high end sound quality, but these cables do have the clear cord part and the plugs that don't stick out as far, if the lightning bolts don't bother you too much. The vintage type patch cables are way easier to customize the length, but they have those plugs that are like a coin size on the end so they always cause problems being too wide. For sure if you never tried any patch cables with the plug in a compact style, you should! These are absolutely as compact as it gets, but I will also note that you can get the Ernie Ball a few inches longer than the maximum length offered here, if length matters to your rig.
