The Way of the Five Elements: 52 Weeks of Powerful Acupoints for Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Health

I just received this book and it came at the perfect time. I am a qigong teacher and in a couple of days I am offering a special class on self-tapping and the Points. I am supplementing my notes with information from Kirkwood's book. This was what I had in mind when I decided to teach this class. I love the in-depth discussions that he has on the points. Always refreshing to see another person's view on things. It is not just good for the info on the points he is discussing but shows where these points are on the body, with photos. It is great for qigong practitioners so they can know which meridians/points are stimulated by all the qigong exercises. I may just add it into my required readings for my qigong certification students.

I highly recommend this 5-Element book.

I like this book very much. It is written in an easy-to-read, conversational style. The content on the various acupoints of the five seasons is very helpful--a good introduction to the topic. My one complaint is with the book binding. The pages do not fold down well, and seem to easily become unglued/unhitched from the book spine. The book is written like a "How-to" guide (marvelous), so one's wish to fold pages down while practicing an acupoint does not seem unreasonable. While not a book on acupuncture, the various acupoints described apply to acupuncture as well. One other suggestion: How about providing a summary chart (with symptoms, benefits, locations) of the various acupoints, arranged according to the 5 seasons? Thanks...Namaste!

This can be a journey of learning through the year, or you can go directly to the element most needed. Very useful in deepening your practitioner awareness of the nuances.

This book sparked a huge inspirational current for me. I use it when I lead trainings and gatherings since it is thorough yet approachable. Love it!

Beautiful design, nice feel to the book and pages. Just a quick glance, it appears to be informative and easy to follow. The outside binding is ripped, I will ask for a replacement, & send an updated review. as for why I gave it 3 stars.

A beautiful presentation of these ideas. it takes time to absorb.
