American Custom PF-22 POWERFLEX Header System

listen. I love HD, but their prices are insane!!! Vance and Hines mufflers on my HD FLHTCU ( for those without decoder rings that is a Ultra Classic) and I was not about to pay $400 for V&H Headers. So I used my friend as a test pilot and had him buy this first for his 16 Street glide ( sorry I do not have that decoder ring). He has 5K on this header and ZERO issues. I have about 200 miles on mine. NO issues. I will say this. PLEASE READ THIS PART!!!! If you buy this. PLEASE go to Harley and get their exhaust Gasket. ( and buy at least 1 extra, I recommend 2 extra). Frank tried after market ones and they leaked. He had to take the headers off 2 times before he finally bought the HD ones and they are much more meater ( is that a word?,, hmm, okay thicker) and work better. There is a thinner side and a thicker side,thin goes towards the pipes to allow the pipe to fit over the gasket. So what to take from this is. DON'T BE A FRANK and buy the cheaper gasket. okay, back to the headers. They are rather easy to install. Your heat shield will cover all the welds and unfinished looks of the pipes. I had to remove my lower fairing and foot platform on the right side to allow access to the 2 bolts in the front. I was told it made it easier so I did not try to install without taking those 2 off. On a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being hardest I give this install a 3 or 4. Yeah, that easy. They sound great. I did NOT notice a huge difference in sound as far as it being louder. It was more throaty sounding and you can hear, yes actually hear, the engine breathing better but the loudness was the same as with just my V&H mufflers. Frank insists his is MUCH louder on his. He has screaming eagle exhaust.

Replaced my exhaust on my 2010 Road King because of the catalytic converter and the heat from the pipes. After replacing with this system it reduced my heat by I would say 50% to me. My wife really didn't like to ride because of the heat from the pipes . And now she really enjoys it. I matched this up with the American Custom Bomber pipes and this thing sound Great!!! And no remapping was needed . And an increase of power. I took it out on the highway to see if the sound would be over bearing, but it mellows out on the highway and makes it a good ride. The whole set , true dual and Bomber mufflers were cheaper then 1 set of Vance and Hines mufflers alone. And believe me they sound just as good for me!!

Worked great for my 2016 Street Glide Special. Installed easily with "Tapered Exhaust Gaskets Pair For Harley-Davidson repl.Harley OEM# 65324-83A Orange Cycle Parts" I have read a lot of differing reviews of this product, some saying they just remove the catalytic converter from a stock HD head pipe. But they do more than that, if you look into the back of the pipe you can see there is more to it than that as there are extra parts welded in the chamber section.

I knocked it down a star because they used standard painted steel instead of sticking with stainless steel as original. Otherwise well made and good welds. I would NOT shy away from the product because of my gripe.

Easy install. The hardest part was changing the exhaust gaskets (not included). I have a high flow air cleaner on my bike so I also changed my ECU settings. I have a noticeable improvement in power and throttle response. The best part is no heat on the right side of the bike now that the catalytic converter is gone. For the price, you get a good bang for your buck.

not bad for the money , cat delete is nice , not a tuned header like Vance and Hines but good on a budget

the best i ever bought fit was spot on does what it was supposed to do this is my first for my self have installed other more expensive cat replacement units this is by far the best easy to install nice part

This header work great on my 2013 Harley Road Glide probably one of the best investments I've made on my bike.
