Great product - FULL informative review!
I am a hairy guy and the the product is a very welcome tool to make myself more presentable. I have a couple of things to add though. First, I hesitate to call the Mangroomer a "shaver." It does not "shave" nor does it leave your skin smooth without trace of hair. It is more like a clipper, although it does clip the hair very close to the skin. The end result would be something like what you would see if you shaved the area and looked at it the next day or so. Basically stubble. Next, the clipper can be abrasive. You have to be careful not to press too hard or else your skin will get hurt. Just provide enough pressure so that the clipper makes contact with your skin. No more, or you may end up as disgruntled as some reviewers here seem to be. This pain is easy to avoid, so don't condemn the Mangroomer just because you aren't using it the right way. Lastly, some people complain that the clipper won't cut hair, and say that it pulls instead. This is the result of trying to clip an area too quickly. If you go slow and steady, then the clipper will work better. The best way to use the clipper is to move it in the opposite direction of the hair growth while simultaneously moving it back and forth about an inch, if that makes sense. Instead of just getting an area in one wide sweep, go slow and move the clipper back and forth in an effort to get all the hair. I will admit that if you are clipping long hair, the trimmer may pull slightly. But you shouldn't have long hair once you start clipping it regularly! I have tried shaving my back with the Razorba. While it worked great the first time, I ended up getting a bunch of ingrown hairs and razor bumps on my neck, shoulders and back. When I tried to shave my back again a few days later, the razor cut into all the bumps caused by the first session and it was a horrible experience. What I do now is attach my cheap Remington foil shaver (about $30 on Amazon and works beautifully. I use it for my face regularly) to the Razorba head (instead of a razor blade) with two zip ties and shave my back with it. This is a great way to get a smooth feel to the area you want to rid hair from if using an actual razor blade won't work for you. The Mangroomer removes the hair enough so the foil shaver is functional (foil shavers only shave stubble - don't try them on longer growth. They pull!) and the foil shaver makes everything smooth. One last tip is to use lithium batteries. My Mangroomer eats normal batteries from breakfast. Oh, and waxing hurts like hell, and is very expensive. This is what works best for me. Hopefully it helps someone else out. From one hairy guy to another.

OUCH! Very CHEAP gets clogged and pulls
CHEAP. It wont mow through back hair, no matter how thick or thin. You'll have to go over your back 10x and scratch your skin and it wont even be a clean shave. Cloggs easy. Hurts when it pulls and scratches. Wont even work on my arm hair...Wish i could return it and get my old back shaver from the trash but its too late!

I wish I had this years ago!
My Mangroomer got delivered today from Amazon. I glanced at the instructions (not that there's much to know about it), popped in a couple batteries, went into the bathroom, took off my shirt, and went to work. In about 10 minutes, my back was smooth. It was definitely the easiest solution I ever used for removing back hair. Pros ============= 1) It works extremely well. 2) It's tricky in that you need two mirrors (a bathroom mirror and hand mirror suffice) and the motions you use don't come naturally. You kind of have to feel where you're moving it. But you get used to it and it's actually very easy, which is nice. Just relax and take your time and soon you'll have all the excess hair off your back. 3) It kind of feels nice. Like a mild back scratcher. It didn't leave any marks on me and doesn't feel excessively sharp. Cons ============= 1) It's not the sturdiest appliance. The plastic is lightweight and if you drop it, I can see it breaking. It folds open but feels a little loose. This doesn't affect the performance as the pressure you apply keeps it rigid, but it still has that initial loose feel to it. 2) The hair you shave off seems attracted to the plastic like static. A minor annoyance, but it's something that will have you wiping it off with a rag to get rid of all that hair clinging to it. Things to Note ============== I see they sell extra heads. The fact that they do suggests that the heads have a lifespan. Also, there is no cap or cover for the blade. The blade itself isn't overly sharp or pointy, so unless you gouge yourself, you shouldn't have any scratches. It doesn't remove hair completely smooth like you just waxed or use a hair removal cream, but it still does a very very nice job. Advice for How to Use ======================= I held it by the blade part of the shaft near the joint, reached back, and then brought it from the center of my back outwards. Switching arms, that took care of my lower back. I then used the full telescoping handle and went from above, like in the illustration, and that took care of my upper back. I recommend using the mirror to see where there's hair, and then just going by the feel of it. You can hear when the blade comes in contact with hair and can feel the parts of your back that you've done (like getting your back scratched). Then use the mirrors again to see where you missed. The important thing to do is to relax and take your time. Hold it with a firm grip since I don't recommend dropping it, and soon you'll get the hang of it. I've gone through a lot to remove my back hair over the years. For the first time, I can do it all myself with little effort. I'm definitely happy I got this item. I rate it four stars. It would have gotten a five-star rating had it been built a little more rugged. I see there is a rugged model, but for the pricing, I think this one should have been made a little tougher. Still, it's very very effective and it's easy. That makes it a good purchase.

Does the job... and makes a great back scratcher!
I was surprised by how tough and effective this gadget was. I had seen one at an overstock store several years ago and I thought it was a novel idea for someone with back hair (I didn't have any at the time.) Now that I do, I'm very insecure about it, and would have my girlfriend use a beard trimmer to clean up my back before a day at the pool or beach. Now that I'm single, I needed to find a way to do it myself. Somewhat expensive, but very useful. I was originally disapointed when I opened the package because of how lightweight and cheap it felt, but when I loaded the batteries and fired it up, I was amazed at how well it cut hair, how fast the blades moved, and how easy it was to use. The extending and bending arm is a big help. I can reach everywhere I need to, and my back doesn't feel irritated or inflamed after using. The blades are set up in a way that will not harm you, unlike many trimmers not specifically designed for this purpose. I have used it a few times now, and greatly appreciate it. Plus, if you need your back scratched, you can use it without turning it on, and it works great.
