Le doy un 10/10
Upgraded from a Hitachi 2TB HDD to this 1TB SSD and the difference is night & day. My cold boot time is 25sec from 2 min, shutdown is even faster (12 sec). It's blazing fast when it comes to moving data. No more intermittent freezes or read head chatter in my PC! Great quality, performance, capacity & price!

Great for storing things.
This SSD has been a great upgrade. Installation was simple, and the difference in speed compared to a traditional hard drive is huge—boot times are much faster, and programs open almost instantly. For everyday use, it makes a computer feel brand new again. Performance has been consistent, with no hiccups or slowdowns, and the 1TB size offers plenty of space for both system files and storage. It runs quietly and stays cool, which is another plus for long-term reliability. Affordable, fast, and dependable—an excellent choice if you’re looking to breathe new life into a desktop or laptop.

Works pretty well, was a good replacement for my PS5 hard drive
This works great for replacing the hard drive on my PS4. It is pretty fast for a budgeted PS4 drive. It is thinner in height compared to most 2.5 disk drives but it will fit in your ps4 without much issues. I has a standard aluminum case and I had no trouble installing it. I did want to see how this would perform on on both Mac and PC so I tried it with that first also was my way to test the speed. The drive was able to work without any issues. It did not require any additional software and it was just a plug in play (minus the initialization. It also fit the sata port pretty well. The only thing I would say if you are installing this in laptops with a holder is that you may need to hold it up slightly as it is thinner than your normal 2.5 disk drive but honestly it would not be too much of a difference in installation. You always need to initalize it even with external. I did want to test the transfer speed using a 3.0 enclosure and the transfer speed is not too bad which is good. There was no extreme heat up to an alarming. I did a memory verification just to be safe and the storage memory is correct so you can be sure your data is safe. The speed works pretty well for my ps4. The games load faster and the PS4 does not lag during intense cut scenes which is what I wanted. I test it against some other 2.5 solid state drives (Samsung and WD) as well as the Seagate Hybrid drive and it was not bad. It is pretty on par with the most brand solid state drives. It is definitely a good drive to use for an upgrade from a disk drive to a higher capacity and faster storage. Unfortunately with so many games being big files 1 TB does fill up pretty quick. I was able to transfer all the data from my old PS4 drive to my new one but it did take time to back up and restore everything. Overall I like this drive. It has been reliable and fast. I have not had any issues with it slowing down or failing.

Reliable, Affordable Upgrade for Everyday Storage Needs
Reliable, Affordable Upgrade for Everyday Storage Needs This PNY CS900 2TB SSD turned out to be a straightforward and satisfying upgrade. Installation was quick—just a standard 2.5" SATA connection—and the drive was recognized immediately without any hassle. For general use, it’s a night-and-day improvement compared to an old spinning hard drive. Boot times are nearly instant, programs open faster, and overall system responsiveness feels much snappier. The 2TB capacity is a sweet spot for those who want a roomy but reasonably priced drive. It’s plenty for storing a mix of games, videos, photos, and work files without worrying about space. Performance is solid and consistent; while it doesn’t reach the speeds of NVMe drives, for most desktops and laptops that still rely on SATA, this is more than enough. I also noticed that it runs cool and quiet, with no issues under heavy file transfers. One thing to keep in mind is that this is more of a budget SSD—so while reliability has been great so far, it doesn’t come with some of the advanced endurance ratings or extra-long warranties you’ll see in higher-end models. That said, for typical consumer workloads, it’s more than adequate. Bottom line: A dependable and affordable way to breathe new life into an older machine or expand storage on a newer one. It delivers fast, reliable performance without breaking the bank.

10x speed increase
10x speed increase from my HDD I used Macrium Reflect (free 30-day trial) to clone my HDD to the new SSD which was easy with the help of a couple YouTube videos. The results are impressive. Timed my old boot process at over 3 minutes until I was able to use my laptop. Even after 3 minutes, it was barely usable, and the disk was running at 100%. After installing the SSD, boot time was 33 seconds, and the laptop was ready to go. It runs better than it did out of the box. Highly recommend this upgrade to any older laptop.

low priced SSD -Great for testing new operating systems. older PC's supposedly not W11 capable
Great price, easy installation, seems to work OK with W11. Will test on Linux mint. Not sure about reliability- had an older one, that didn't last very long, so will see. Happy for now. Works OK for linux- Mint and Zorin seem to work well with this drive.

Good, not the fastest not the worst
Got this for an excellent price and used it to replace the HDD in an hp I use as my main laptop. I cloned the og drive over with a sabrent cable and whatever free software they provide for cloning and it went well. I haven't gotten around to installing crystaldisk yet but it's been running for I think over a month now with no issues. Obviously a much shorter boot time than the original disk, but I upgraded the ram while I had it apart too so everything is running better. Afaik no cache on this, it's not nearly as fast as the m.2 nvme drive on my desktop, but it's miles ahead from the old school spinning disk that was a poor choice even back in 2017 when the computer was manufactured. For the money it's plenty fast and I've had nothing but good experiences with this company in the past so I'm not worried about using it as a primary drive, I might even buy another and put it in the DVD drive slot. Dimensions are true and it's a nice little drive, I love these 2.5 satas for making cheap external USB drives out of as well, enclosures are super cheap and you can get an external drive for half the price of one purpose built. Overall a great deal, at least for what I paid, it was only a few bucks more than the cheapest off brand drive available on Amazon at the time. I do use external HDD backups for everything I care about, as I don't trust these to be recoverable when they eventually go, but that's the price for speed, and I may not understand that lack of recovery properly 🤷♂️

Solid Budget SSD With Great Everyday Performance
The PNY CS900 500GB SSD is a strong upgrade for anyone looking to breathe new life into an older laptop or desktop. It’s not the fastest drive on the market, but for the price, it delivers reliable performance and a noticeable boost in speed over a traditional hard drive. Pros: • Fast boot times and quick application loading compared to HDDs • Easy to install thanks to the standard 2.5" SATA design • Good reliability for everyday use like web browsing, office work, and light gaming • Quiet and energy‑efficient — runs cool with no moving parts • Excellent value for the price, especially for budget builds or upgrades Cons: • Not as fast as NVMe SSDs, so heavy workloads won’t see top‑tier speeds • Plastic casing feels a bit lightweight compared to premium drives • Performance can dip slightly during large file transfers • No included cloning software or mounting hardware, depending on the seller Overall, the PNY CS900 is a great choice if you want a simple, affordable SSD that delivers a big performance jump without breaking the bank. Perfect for reviving older systems or adding quick storage to a budget build.
