Silverlegs

Firstoff, there should probably be a trigger warning for rape and violence. This story is obviously fantasy but it really brings to life the sort of hard,grim lives lived by the common people. The depiction of their daily life squares with what I've read elsewhere. The sponge in the latrine, oh my lord. Also, I hope you have a Kindle so you can look up all the various pieces of Roman fighting gear. You can guess from the descriptions what is being talked about but it's fun to look up actual items.The life of a soldier during war time is hard but being a woman was harder still. Constantor lives with the fear of being found out and the fear that her rage will consume her. The ending was a complete surprise to me, well crafted and tope defying.

I don't really write review ever, but the badassery of this book demanded it...I love how it depicts war and battle. The heroine truly become a warrior. How it left off is killing me, I cannot wait for the next book! ughhh that's the worst part of an amazing book--when's the next one coming out!?!?!?!?!?!?I would try to write more, but like I said review aren't my forte! Just read the book lol!

What an amazing book. Camilla Monk does it again. I loved the Spotless series but this one is in a class all on its own. Silverlegs is a riveting read and the way the author writes, you are in the scene with the characters. It comes alive. And there’s no tedious description of the world and society the novel is set in. You are still able to relate and imagine and understand the society/ world. Can’t wait for the next book!!! When is it coming out?

As always, Camilla comes through with another highly entertaining story. I’m anxious to see how Silverlegs manages to hide her true gender as she matures. I love the hunter and prey emotional response she (he) has in battle. It makes her ruthless. Whoever came up with the idea that only men can kick ass is deluded.

This was very entertaining. Plenty of action. Easy to follow. Silver Legs is a very entertaining heroine. I was a little taken aback at the end. I wasn't expecting A turncoat action from one of the main players. Well written. It was as if I was right in the action. Thank you and keep on keepin' on.

I love action and girl power. This book has it in spades. The delicate balance of strength and empathy has me roaring for more!

I took 5 years of Latin and I know a bunch about the Roman Empire. Therefore this book interested me. It's the first grimdark book I've ever liked reading. Maybe because it has a female main character. I look forward to reading the next book in the series!

I read this straight through (aside from going to work) even though it is a fairly long novel. I liked the way the author built up the characters and explored the environment/culture through the sorry by just sharing the main character's thoughts.
