If you are on the fence about battery mowers, it is time to jump over to the electric life
I have not had to cut a lawn since the early 1980's. Now in the midst of labor shortages and rising prices for lawn services, I decided to try cutting it myself. This mower was/is a good choice. Our previous lawn service had empty shelves from all the awards they were not winning, so last year we bought the Green Works 40 V blower and trimmer for light clean up duty AFTER the lawn crew was done each week. We liked both of them. So this year we decided to ditch the crew and bought the 80 V Pro self propelled mower. It has so far been a great product. 1. SO much quieter than a gasoline mower. 2. No exhaust fumes 3. No hot engine and muffler to burn yourself on. 4. No pull start 5. Can be stored vertically; no fluids to spill. There are 'feet' built in to hold it upright if you like. 6. No need to cart gas home in a jerry can. 7. It is really quiet. I know I said that before but I thought you may have not heard it. 8. It is lightweight. Most of the time I don't use the self propelled feature. 9. You can use the self propulsion without having to run the blades. Handy if you are moving it a ways. 10. Battery life is good. I did buy an extra battery figuring I would need it, but I could have gotten by without it. My lot is about 1/3 acre. 11. It does not use a lot of electricity. I do not run the batteries down to empty. From about 20-33% charge, it takes about an hour to charge. I threw a meter on the charger; it starts out at about 350 watts and was more like 100 as it was finishing. 12. Wheel height adjustment is a snap. Literally. A spring-loaded lever snaps into 7 different settings. While the self propelled feature is handy, it is a bit quirky as it takes a few seconds for that motor to come up to speed. Whereas a self propelled gas mower is powered by the engine already running so it starts at speed. This is just one of those things you get used to. Not a show stopper. Once that motor is cranking, it has plenty of power and (adjustable) speed, it just takes a second that you may not be accustomed to. The quality of the cut is fine. The 80V motor has all the oomph you need to get through wet or tall grass. While lightweight and easy to manage, it is still heavy enough to leave tire tracks to line up your rows. The bagger works fine, but I usually use the mulching mode. I would buy this again and tell my friends to do the same. The competition is hot in this area, and I only own this one, so maybe there could be something yet better on the market, but this one seems to tick all the boxes and not only am I happy, my Greek chorus of nosey neighbors all seem to like it to.

No serious complaints. Buy this mower.....like, now.
I'll take this over a gas powered mower ANYday. After another summer where I pulled my mower out of the shed, dewinterized and it STILL didn't work, I bit the bullet and went electric. This mower is almost as effective as my old gas mower, with half the noise and none of the maintenance. It's got a HUGE battery that charges surprisingly fast. I can cut front and back on a single charge. (about 5000 sqft). It folds up and takes up about a quarter of the real estate in my shed. It's super light, and strong enough to get through some really thick patches of grass. Even the wife asked to push it around because of how easy it is to use. It's easily adjustable and really has no drawbacks. My one gripe is the headlight. It's COMPLETELY and utterly useless. I don't know how much battery power it takes to light, but there is just no reason for it no matter what. Who's cutting grass at 9:30 at night? Other than that, I do notice a few stray strands of grass every now and then when going through the thickest parts of the lawn, but a second pass will get them if I have time. I'm super, SUPER happy with my switch over. No more gas, or sparkplugs, or oil, or needing ear protection. Get this mower.

My only regret...not buying it sooner
I was sick and tired of dealing with gas mower issues with carburetor or fuel line and what not. Took a leap of faith and all I can say is that I regret not taking this decision sooner. This mower is amazing!!! This is not paid review, I purchased this mower and writing my personal experience of using it. So far, I've mowed my lawn 5 times and am beyond delighted. I purchase 8Amps battery model and also purchased on 4 Amps battery just to be on the safe side. I have about 1/2 acre lot with some slopes here and there and 8Amps gets me thru it - Greenworks says it can mow 3/4 but I'm guessing that's in ideal conditions where land is flat, grass is not crazy tall and grass blades are not hard. This thins is powerful, way quieter than gas mower. One feature that I love above all is its ability to momentarily speed up motor the moment it senses resistance from grass...my gas mower would choke and stall where this mower cut thru like butter with increased speed. Other cool feature is that if you want to use the wheel power to move it, you can do that without having to spin the mower blade...it comes in handy when I'm move it back into garage after completing my mowing. I must say that Greenworks engineers and design team truly spent time and effort into making this awesome product, no corners were cut and its built solid, you would feel it. One tip, when your using self-propelled feature, don't try to move it back immediately after releasing the lever, wheels take a second or two to release.
