Okabashi Men's Canvas Indigo Classic Flip Flop Sandal Shoes

This is the kind of product that makes one question the entire concept of Reviews. How can a product that is so highly rated turn out to be such a piece of junk ? You can form your own opinions on that.The soles of theses shoes are so stiff it feels like walking on a block of wood. The straps are very loose. You get a flip flop that is very uncomfortable sloppy and difficult to walk in. They literally come flying off my feet when I walk. The worst part is they are a serious tripping hazard. The sole is so stiff that when you lift your rear foot to walk forward the heel remains on the ground for a second causing it to catch on just about everything. I live in my flip flops and granted I’m pretty fussy about them. I read in the reviews s lot of praise for the arch support. Yes, the support is much more substantial than other products but it’s hard as s rock. My feet really hurt after wearing them for an evening out.In the past I’ve paid three or four times this price for good quality flips. I should have know better. Good footware can’t be bought this cheaply

Okabashi is the best!! They have a high arch support, and they CURED my plantar faschiitis. The footbed is the most comfortable of anything I've worn. They are better than any orthotics in any of my other shoes, and I've tried plenty. After wearing shoes, even with orthotics, no matter which brand, my feet will be sore by day's end. I used to have to literally crawl out of bed i the morning, they were so sore. So I put on the Okabashis and feel instant relief. When I wear them all weekend, I have no pain whatsoever. Your results may differ, but these literally changed my life. I keep a pair in either car, put them on after leaving work.Don't tell them, but they could cost 3 times as much and I would still buy them. They are better than Birkenstocks. I have bought over 20 pair for myself and friends, and they all love them. I have called them directly and asked them to make orthotics!

The review with the strap digging into the skin is true. I don't know if it needs to be "broken" into for the leather strap to not hurt anymore, but it is not a friday night sandal.Other than that, the sandal has a hefty weight to it so I am confident that it will last much longer than the sponge/foam sandals.

These flip flops are so great! The support and durability just can't be beat. I always order a pair for my son, who wears them every single day all summer. The only strange thing is the size 8-8.5 is BARELY larger than my son's old, identical pair which is 7-7.5, like maybe an 1/8 of an inch? So strange! However, they fit for now, so I'm holding onto them.

Favorite thing to wear! They are noticeably thick and heavy, but extremely durable and comfy. The straps go through the bottom of the sole and attach underneath. This may become a future problem as they look like they may wear down and break. My thoughts would be that you may replace them somehow, as it would seem the sole of the flip-flop would outlast the strap.

My third pair of these. The first ones lasted a pretty good amount of time considering I wear flip flops most of the time. This pair had the left toe post break the second day I wore them. I have returned them for a refund.I hope this was a fluke as like them and prefer to buy American.

I think that these sandals fit great, but it was less than 3 months before the toe piece going into the sole broke where it goes into the button at the bottom of the sole, rendering them unusable. Good price, but that is not very long. I ordered another similar pair where the toe piece is rubber, formed when they mold the shoe, so will see if that design wears better.

Didn't fit the shape of my feet so I ended up giving them away. Sending them back cost almost as much as the sandals, themselves. The ball of my foot is only slightly higher than the outside knuckle. As with many shoes, these are made for a foot that has the ball significantly higher than the little toe knuckle. Nice shoes, however.
