Aida gives Nan a run for her money in Book #11 Rosemary Beach
First off it seems that I have skipped one book as #10 is the beginning of this love story between Mase and Reese , but that is alright as you don't need to read Book #10 to understand the story. At the beginning of this novel , Reese has been spending some time with her newfound family due to the discovery of her birth father and getting to know her family and relatives and has decided to come home a little early to surprise her boyfriend Mase Colt-Manning who despite growing up on the ranch, he too has discovered that he has a different family also as his biological father is Kiro Manning from the band that Dean Finlay who is Rush's dad also is in. Confused yet ? Reese arrives home to learn that there is a new girl hanging around her boyfriend and she doesn't look happy to see her , in fact she is being treated like she is an interruption. The new girl turns out to be Aida - who is Mase's cousin - not by blood though and she has the hots for Mase and now that they are both old enough she is not going to let go of Mase quietly, as he should be hers. She has waited all these years and not going to let Reese swoop in and steal her Prince Charming. The thing is though that Mase sees Aida just as her cousin , the one he cares about. Will Mase's caring for Aida form a rift between him and Reese and willl Reese turn to newcomer Captain aka River Kipling - he is Blaire Finlay's brother as he seems to be hanging around Reese alot and acting flirtatious. As the book goes along, we learn more about Reese's background and her love for Mase but what happens when doubts start to form ? Will this be the point to push Reese over the edge and lose Mase for good or will the pair discover when left with the idea that they might lose one another - that they in fact can't live without each other ? I really enjoyed reading this book but I did hope with the ending that revealed her father and his intentions as it felt that the epilogue finished quite abruptly for my liking. Overall , however it was great to be reunited with the cast of the Rosemary Beach series as had been a while since I had read an Abbi Glines's novel. I am now looking forward to going back and catching up on the ones I have missed in the later part of the series.

Reese and Mase's conclusion
Reese's life is finally looking up for her. She has moved in with her boyfriend and best friend, Mase Colt Manning, to his ranch in Texas and she has a family in Chicago who welcome her with open arms. Mase is intent on taking care of Reese because that's the kind of guy that he is, but finds that he is often distracted by other people and events. For starters, his cousin Aida is none too welcoming of Reese and finds excuses to steal Mase away to help her out. A lot of readers hate Nan, and while she isn't my favorite, I know a lot about her background so I can sort of empathize with her. With Aida, I simply didn't like her and had no reason to even think positively of her.Captain/River and Major are also featured in this story. Major is his usual straight talking self whose direct honesty can be both a blessing and a curse. River, who was introduced briefly in Blaire and Rush's story, initially comes off a bit enigmatic with unclear motives despite his easy confidence. As more of him is revealed, he's similar to Major with his bluntness and also very persistent. I really liked River and can tell he has a hidden past that will explain a lot more about him.I always love any drama involving Kiro and his children and while Nan wasn't present in this story, Harlow and Kiro were and Mase's relationship with Kiro is casual acquaintance at best, but closer to estranged on most days. I've always struggled with Kiro because I can see that he isn't all that bad deep down, but he's a massive trainwreck otherwise due to so much pain and heartache.Reese and Mase deal with lot of stuff in this book but I never questioned their relationship even if Reese did. As much as I love Mase, he frustrated me at times but he's also the sort of guy to admit he's wrong or his mother will be there to set him straight instead. As for Reese, she's a great girl but sometimes I wanted her to stand up stronger without Mase around. One thing I felt lacking in this book was a better explanation about certain things, like Reese's family and why her dad was missing from her life all this time. I'm hoping River's book will give more insight to that. The ending felt a little rushed but left me feeling like Mase and Reese were in a good place regardless.

Not as good as the others.
When You're Back is the sequel to When You're Gone where we see Mace and Reese's story come to a close.Reese and Mace are working on building their future together but when Reese's long lost father comes into the picture and Reese spends some time with her family in Chicago, they're apart once again. But it's nothing they haven't done before and soon enough, Reese arrives at Mace's ranch to live there. She can't wait to start building a life with him but Mace's so called cousin Aida seems to enjoy causing trouble for them.Mace is so happy that Reese is finally with him. He'll do anything to make her happy, even if that means helping her find a job. But what Mace doesn't expect is for his cousin to start causing problems for them and for one of Mace's work associates to start showing Reese attention. And even more, his real father Kiro Manning is causing trouble back in Rosemary Beach. All Mace wants it to start his life with Reese but it doesn't look like they'll catch a break any time soon....When You're Back is an enjoyable read. I like both Reese and Mace and they're stories were entertaining enough to keep me interested. They're were a few twists that were a little predictable but still somewhat enjoyable. I really enjoyed getting to know Mace's family more and I'm definitely looking for to having Major's story in my hands - I'm predicting Major & Nan together but that would be highly entertaining! And of course it was great to be able to see some of my favourite characters from Rosemary Beach once again. But I do have one slight issue. Abbi Gines fast became one of my favourite author and even now after however many books she's wrote she's still a favourite, however, after the last couple of books I've read of her's I'm starting to find a pattern with the stories and they've all started to mesh together because the characters, especially the male leads, recently all seem to have the same voice. It's hard to differ between them which is sad because I love them all. I like the alpha male personality however, they've all just become so predictable it's hard to be surprised by anything they do and it's got to the point where I feel like I'm reading the same story over and over again. This makes me sad. It really does because while I was reading When You're Back, it was hard to see Mace as Mace. Rush, Grant, Woods and Tripp all seemed to be there with me and again, it was hard to differ between them all. But I'm not ready to give up on Abbi Glines as a writer. I'm extremely excited to read Until Friday Night but I think I need to take a little break from reading the Rosemary Beach series and once the rest of the series is released, I'll definitely come back to it at that point.

Enjoyable
A continuation of Mase & Reese's story . Reese's real father turns up at her flat just as she's packing to go & live in Texas with Mase . He seems to be someone very wealthy ,& he wants to get to know his daughter , he also finds out a little about what happened to her as a child. Unfortunately there's a problem on the horizon for Reese & Mase , a woman called Aida who is Mase's cousin , who we learn is not a blood relative on account that she was adopted , & shes got her eye set on Mase so when Reese moves in with him she's not too happy and tries to drive a wedge between them . Reese also has an encounter with someone from her past ,her stepfather turns up after tracking her down . She learns that her mother has died & he tries to get Reese to leave with him but is stopped by the mysterious Captain who is the half brother of Blaire & it seems that he's some sort of vigilante as he murders the stepfather and leaves a card by the body with "For My Liitle Girl "written on it , hopefully we'll learn more about this in the next book . The ending is one that was expected but I think it should have gone on a little bit longer to tie up a few loose ends , at least we should have had the wedding . There is also an envelope that Reese's father sent & there was a mysterious card Inside the envelope which has the words "For My Little Girl " written on it which is the same thing that was on the one left by the body of her stepfather .

I enjoy this one! Love Mase Colt Manning
*** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***I was so excited and a little nervous when I realised that When You’re Back was going to my next read. You see I was excited to get more of the sexy Southern cowboy Mase Colt Manning as I fell in love with him after reading When You’re Gone. He became my second favourite Abbi man after Woods. (I love Woods) but I was nervous about what was in store for both him and Recess.“I found her. I’d found the one. The one who would change my world”“I was his. Everything about me belonged to Mase Colt Manning”I have to say the drama and angst that was there, and there was some wasn't too bad. Yes, they did have a bit of a bumpy road as a couple of other characters were playing manipulative little games. And when trust, honesty, jealousy and insecurity issues come into play, it makes Mase and Reese doubt their relationship and what they really meant to each other. So it’s safe to say I was a little frustrated with them both at times.“I love you so much I can’t breathe. You are my heart, Reese. My life”“The man I trusted. The man I knew would never hurt me”However, with what was going on you couldn’t deny how much Mase loved his girl and how much Reese loved her cowboy. In true Abbi style, the lust, passion, attraction, and the chemistry between Mase and Reese was undeniable these two had so much love for each other. And I love that! Loved watching Mase and Reese grow as a couple as they faced this bumpy road together.“Loving her is worth…it’s worth it all. Living in fear of love isn’t living.”When You’re Back was a heartwarming story about true love, trust, and growth, honesty, with a little drama and angst thrown in. There was a continuity error, but that didn’t take away my enjoyment of the book. I loved the little twist that Abbi threw in and, as a result, I went from having a mild dislike for a character to seeing them in a whole new light. Well-played Abbi!!Overall, I enjoyed this one. There is something familiar about an Abbi book. I love her ability to draw me in every time, and I love the feeling I get when reading one of her books, and that I read most it with a grin on my face. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the Rosemary Beach Series The Best Goodbye, which will be Blaire’s brother Captain’s story. One last thing! I did spend a lot of time talking to one of my Co-blogger while reading this one about who was the man that was going to tame Nan. As I knew, Abbi had said the clues would be there, and I have to say that after playing the detective and finishing the book I pretty sure I know who it will be! I can’t wait to see if I’m right!!

Mixed feelings about this book
When You're Back was a pre order for me, and I've been waiting since last year for it to finally arrive on my iPad. I first fell in love with this series late in the game, but early into the series (if that makes sense) and I have eagerly anticipated the arrival of each new addition to this series. While I do have my favourite characters, I love seeing new people added to this group of family and friends, and seeing who they will partner up with.I read When You're Back in a few hours, and while I am finally glad I got to see more Mase and learn a bit more about him, I was left disappointed with the story as a whole. Mase definitely grew in my eyes, especially compared to the previous book, and what he does for Reese is beyond words, however I do think his life of living on the farm, away from the fame of his father, sheltered him, and even I could see the feelings that Aida had for him were most definitely not platonic. I honestly wanted to punch her lights out on several occasions, and I not a violent person. I also think he could have tried a bit harder to be there for Reese more, rather than running off to fi every single problem for everyone else.Reese was someone who I loved the moment I met her, and her whole personality and attitude just shines through the pages. She has no evil intent for anyone, and makes it perfectly clear to her unwanted admirer that she is taken and not interested. This admirer was also not what I expected, and the little twist in the plot that involved him blew me away. However, even with all of the above going on, I felt like there was no real spark to the story. With a series as big as this one I understand it's hard to find unique, interesting things to keep the readers wanting more, and for me When You're Back this lacked that spark I was looking for, the uniqueness of the characters and the plot itself. When you take out the admirer and the twist, When You're Back just feels like its all be done before, I want to read something new, not something that feels like I've read it already.Final VerdictThis was a really mixed book and review for me. I do still love this series, I just hope that the next installment has something to keep me wanting more.

Good, quick read.
When I’m Gone left me feeling a little conflicted. I love the Rosemary Beach series and I love Abbi Glines’ easy-to-read-but-hot stories, but When I’m Gone felt too similar to the other RB stories. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel while reading When You’re Back because of how I’d felt with When I’m Gone. Anyway, I’m pleased to report that I actually got on OK with it!At the start of When You’re Back, Mase and Reece are in a good place. They’re all set to settle down to life in Texas after Reece agrees to move there to be with Mase on his ranch. Things are good for them…until Mase’s “cousin” Aida turns up…and let’s not forget River Kipling, the mysterious guy who seems to be Reece’s unwanted shadow. There’s drama-a-plenty with this love-square!Aida really REALLY made my blood boil. She was so mean, catty and ready to give Nan a run for her money in the bitchiness stakes! I soon grew tired of her and found myself shouting at Mase to see her true colours and set her straight. I couldn’t handle the stress she caused!River Kipling was a hard guy for me to work out. He annoyed me because of how he was with Reece. He made her feel uncomfortable and like she was doing something wrong by talking to him. That was more-so an issue for Reece to resolve, though. I LOVED his involvement in the twist and I’d love to know more about that. I’m hoping his story will shed more light on that! I was sat open-mouthed as I was reading, wondering what the hell was going on! Bravo for that part, Abbi Glines!I would have liked to know more about Reece’s father. Him turning up at the end of When I’m Gone created quite the cliffhanger, but I don’t feel like he explained properly in When You’re Back. I wanted to know more about how he, a seemingly nice, well-to-do guy ended up with Reece’s mother, who by all accounts was a nasty, uncaring woman. I also didn’t feel the connection that Reece had with this new-found family. As a reader, I needed more before I believed in them. All in all, When You’re Back was a good, quick read and it was in typical Abbi Glines style – a little angsty and a whole lot sexy. It’s got me eagerly awaiting the next Rosemary Beach story and I’m looking forward to seeing what Abbi Glines has in store for Captain.
