I have recently found out there is always a transition period for your hair when converting to a natural shampoo bar- I wish I had known this after I brought my first non chemical bar!! Although I am still going through the process of having to wait until my hair starts adapting- I do feel this shampoo is already superior at truly cleansing than my last bar. There was no way I was going to adapt to how greasy/waxy/unclean every wash began to feel- not even regular shampoo could remove the affects it had on my scalp. I had been in search for a truly clarifying product because as a curly girl, you’re taught this is vital in combating buildup of the products you’re advised to use. So I needed a shampoo bar which was 100% natural, good at clarifying or at least making my hair feel somewhat cleaner than the last and was of good value! I hoped very much this would be my final attempt in finding what I was searching for...This shampoo bar is just what I needed, it was perfect in every sense. Because this time I could also tell myself to persevere when there’s somewhat of a waiting process for the adaption your scalp needs to make! As long as you rinse well and do it soon after you’ve applied the suds, I found there is no problems. Despite a slightly waxy feeling whilst my hair is still drying, It’s no way near what I was putting up with, using the previous brand, it made no sense to put up with that much grease! So now with this bar, I am being patient and have already seen the vast improvement in how the reaction of my hair and head is doing far better. I love the colour and size of the bar however I took a star off for the very fine glitter that runs through the soap. It makes it look very pretty but I rather think it goes against the eco credentials of using a soap bar given that glitter is extremely damaging to aquatic life. I only used it 3 times and then decided to use mask, as my ends began to split very badly ( as with any other shampoo). I have thick straight brown long hair and I use natural mask. I normally use urtekram perfume free shampoo which I love.I bought it to reduce plastic, as I am tired of the amount of plastic we throw out every week. My hair feels wonderful\n \n","reviewBody":"I stopped using shampoo a little over a month ago and have been using a Co-Wash conditioner that has done wonders for my hair. I read that I might need to shampoo it once in a while to help with any build-up. Whilst I haven't experienced any problems co-washing, I wanted to try this product as it has all-natural ingredients and I'd read that apple cider helps to restore your scalps natural ph after years of shampooing with harsh chemicals. I've found that it lathers up much better on a second wash, and it leaves my hair feeling 'squeaky clean.' I've had no problem with any leftover residue once I've rinsed, however, I do experience a slight waxy texture to my hair whilst it's drying but this goes away completely once it's fully dry so I wouldn't say it's a negative at all. I imagine I'll use this product once a week as my hair was in poor condition after bleaching and I had to chop a lot of it off, so I'll be interested to see if this helps it to grow back. It already looks much better, and once dry, my hair felt AMAZING. I was very surprised, it felt super soft and I had to stop myself from touching it all the time. Use exfoliation gloves with it!\n \n","reviewBody":"Better than expected and didn't leave my hair feeling as if it was greasy. I've used shampoo bars in the past then used to rinse with watered down apple cider vinegar (ACV) but found it hit and miss due to having residue and reverted to organic shampoo in bottles. But I recently feel that's not the greatest and wanted to give this new bar a try after having used bars from a different company in the past. One trick I learnt was to use the body exfoliation gloves. Lather the bar in gloves first, then rub the gloves on to hair. First time doesn't give much lather on my head so I always go a second time which lathers up really well. Then ensure to rinse really well especially the underside behind ears etc. Was surprised at how nice my hair ended up after a quick straighten.
