When I first opened the box, I was really excited! This hefty cutting board is gorgeous! Then my boyfriend saw it and he was SUPER impressed with the quality (and he use to do some work with the Furniture Masters of New England!! So that is saying A LOT). The board measures just about 17" wide and just under 1 1/2" thickness. There is not one "splintery" spot, this board is as smooth as glass! The groves on the sides making lifting this so easy! And I love the cutout ridge on one side, to prevent juices from leaking onto your counter. I've never had a good wood cutting board, so I was surprised to know that it needs to be "seasoned" (which really takes no time at all!) Its just a matter of coating it with a protective oil. So I did some research. My cousin uses beeswax on hers, but that doesn't sound appealing to me (love that it's natural! But wax on food, yuck!) mineral oil is good! But finding a good food grade is a pain! One thing I found out is coconut oil (or mct oil) is one of the better products to use! Its highly resistant to rancidity and no worries about it being food grade (like mineral oil) or a "wax". I always have coconut oil, but also have MCT oil. Both are scent and tasteless. And you don't have to worry about it 'molding' . The last photo posted is after I have "seasoned" my board. I am a living devoted husband, a father of 6.Being a provider to me has meant that mom and I go without so the children can thrive. Clothes, shoes, diapers, now card and college as well - if mom would let me, our entire family would eat ramen & potatoes.Luckily, mom has more sense in her pinky than I can manage to muster when it comes to self care. She puts all of us first and wants very little for herself, so when she wants something like this, it's a very easy yes!But what she wants doesn't often impress me.This story does though..After a long day yesterday, mom was relaxing on the couch with me, but she had slipped her usual pain meds, they were sitting on the counter (when you get our age naproxen at night becomes habit). I asked if she was going to take the 2 tablets, and she told me she didn't feel the need today, which is out of the ordinary.She said her back didn't hurt, and that this cutting board helped because of how high the surface was compared to our thin or flat boards.I am not a chef or a great mom cook but I sliced and diced a few things for a snack, and I didn't have to bend down!!! For the first time ever, I can say that I love my cutting board.Not for the first time ever MY WIFE WAS RIGHT. I will start investing more into my wife's wants and needs, anything that reduces pain, makes it easier to cook, and comes from a good American company - it's got my vote!We seasoned ours with mineral oil and sealed it with beeswax, Oh and it flips for veggies or the juice groove side for meat, very nifty because we keep several boards for meat and several for veggies

In short, this cutting board is absolutely beautiful! This is the best quality cutting board I have ever owned and whole staircase up from the one it replaced. Sure, its more expensive but this board will most certainly outlast me and probably many generations to come. Product was without a doubt made and packaged with care!

The wood it so beautiful! So glad it came with info on how to register it for the lifetime warranty. I did that right away because this is something I will want to keep forever! Also, I liked the instructions about how to take care of it. I have never done that with any of my other cutting boards, but this is one that I want to keep nice. So excited to be able to start using it. Will probably leave out on the counter at all times bc it's so pretty!

I received this chopping board today. This is so beautiful, sturdy, well made and I am so happy that I got this and can’t wait to start using it.

This is a beautiful board and is American made by a couple of guys in their workshop.It is very sturdy and is thick enough not to ever warp. It is unfinished so you do have to oil it periodically which is what I was doing when I took the picture. It has a lifetime guarantee which is also a plus.It has a juice groove which keeps juice from running all over your counters when slicing meats. THe other side is also usuable if you don't want the groove.

This baby is worth every penny! Heavy! Will last a lifetime!
