Good for people with small feet and for a light movement
I tried this item for about 1 week. Here are my thoughts:The good:1. The frame/metal parts seem sturdy and well made. The plastic parts not so much.2. It folds and stores away easily.3. Shipping was fast and return was easy. The Shortcomings:1. This is smaller than you think. It is hard to judge proportions from the pictures of the unit alone. See attached photos to give you some sort of reference point. The length of the pedal arms are about 4 inches long, not even close to what real bicycle arms are. As a result, the rotational movement is minimal. If you are looking for something to help with range of motion this is not what you want; you will only get about a 30 degree change in the bend of you knees from the top to the bottom of the cycle. See photos.2. It is very light, therefore it moves when used. They do provide straps, but if you increase the tension, the force of your legs pushing at the top of the cycle moves the unit around quite a bit.3. The foot holders are too small for a man's foot. I have a size 9.5-10 (depending of the shoe maker) and my bare foot was comfortable in the strapped pedal, but i could not get my foot in with shoes on.In Conclusion:This unit is good for people with small feet who want some movement, but not a real work-out.

Great pedaler!
I got this for my elderly parents for a Christmas gift. My dad uses a walker and doesn't get out of the house much, and my mom is pretty active but recently had surgery on her hand/wrist. She used a hand pedaled at therapy sessions and was interested in using this for the same. My dad used to ride a stationary bicycle years ago but no longer has the balance needed. He has used the pedaler daily for legs and my mom uses it frequently for her arms. Both like it and the resistance is right for them. It is lightweight and extremely easy to set up. I thrinmnits easy to collapse but they don't do so. I was worried about my dad's feet fitting into the straps (he is 6' 7" and wears size 14 shoes) but they are fine. He does have a little trouble bending over to get his feet into the straps but he has been using the handle of a long shoe horn to hold the loops upright to slip his feet in. He also doesn't need to use the strap to keep the unit from sliding--it seems to do fine on the carpet (plus his resistance isn't too high). My mom just uses the pedaler in the table and it doesn't slide or leave marks. I had been looking on and off for the past year to get one of these and I am glad I paid a little bit more because it is a really nice unit and much nicer than others that cost just a little less. I highly recommend! (I also tried it a little bit and it was capable of getting my heart rate up but the resistance needed to strengthen my legs would probably not be hearty enough if you're fairly fit to begin with.)

Cool little mini stationary bike!
I've had this little mini stationary bike device for a few days now, and it's really quite nice! The tension doesn't go ridiculously high as it's entirely friction based, but it's still enough to feel tired if you use it for a little while! Out of the box, you just have to unfold it, plop the display on (there are some helpful stickers to make sure you put it on the right side), twist the tension knob in, and get to pedaling. I bought it with the intention of hiding it under my desk at work, as my job requires me to plop down at a desk for a long time, but so far I've been enjoying using it just while watching TV at home. I like that the bike module doesn't require any batteries or anything (only the display module which isn't strictly necessary anyway). The "straps" that keep your feet on the pedals are adjustable (2 lengths) too, as you can see in my photos. The display options are: count (number of revolutions), time (time you've been pedaling), calories, and RPM (revolutions per minute). There's also a "scan" feature that makes the display periodically rotate between the different things it can display. The count and timer seem pretty accurate, and the timer even pauses automatically if you stop pedaling, which is neat. The display turns itself off automatically after a while. It runs on a single AAA battery which came included in the package for me.I'll address some of the complaints I've seen here on Amazon as well...Regarding squeaking - mine does occasionally squeak a bit, but that's usually fixed by adjusting the tension knob a bit. It's super quiet besides that. Hopefully doesn't become more of an issue later. The instructions say that if squeaking becomes an issue, you can remove the tension knob and drop a small amount of light silicone lubricant in the hole meant for the tension knob, so... I might use that later.Regarding the shiny metal bits of the pedal heating up - yeah, they heat up. Don't touch them. Simple as that. Not hard.Regarding the knob loosening up over time - I'm not sure if I've encountered this or not. It does tend to get a tiny bit "easier" to pedal over time, but I can't visibly see the tension knob turning or anything - might just be me getting used to using it. Hard to tell. In any case, the instructions say that they'll send you a free "tension adjust knob locknut" that's supposed to fix this issue if you have it. I just requested one just in case.Ultimately, I'm happy with my purchase :)
