Imported Small Meerschaum - CLAW holding Lattice Bowl

I used to find these buried in the ground so I knew meerschaum was an excellent material for a pipe. This piece did not disappoint. It functions great and is beautifully detailed and carved at a more than reasonable price. I have used the pipe for a week, so I can’t speak to the long term, but would 100% recommend this piece.

This is a great pipe for tobacco smoking. Nice pull, no strange taste, stays cool,and looks awsome. As (other) smokers are a bit rough on their pipes, (tapping them on hard surfaces and such) I suggest this for tobacco smokers only.. Pipes like this are why the pipe tool was created, so some careless fool would not break the pipe and then whine about the thing being too fragile. A great pipe for any smoker that has common sense enough not to abuse it.

After careful assessment of the pipe - it seems to be, most likely, not genuine block meerschaum, but some sort of imitation. Probably, pressed meerschaum dust, or similar. Still pretty much smokeable cute mini-pipe, but imitation material, whatever it is, certainty doesn't have the same properties as genuine one. In particular, it wouldn't absorb moisture in the way that real meerschaum does. So, buying and smoking that pipe defeats the purpose, since the smoking experience would be different. It's the same as use any wood instead on briar in a briar pipe.P.S. I accuired a real vintage block meerschaum pipe from antiques store, and i see that the material is totally different. The real meerschaum is light, porous, absorbs moisture quickly, and to the touch feels more like wood then a stone. THIS pipe made of totally different and unknown material. I was smoking something i don't know what it's made of. It might be toxic, or cancerogenic. What a shame. Total fake.P.S.S. in a couple of months of occasional use i noticed a net of tiny cracks all over the bowl, and then a piece fell off during regular gentle cleaning. That's it, this is the end of life of the product. Didn't take too long.

it was a terrific little pipe coloring nicely i always used a tool to clean it never banged it on anything but then tonight i was cleaning it and a large chunk of the rim just fell out.they were very prompt at getting me a new pipe

Great little pipe fits my hand very well. Awesome looking have gotten many compliments .

Always wanted a meerschaum pipe, this is perfect and smokes wonderfully.
