Honor and Betrayal: The Untold Story of the Navy SEALs Who Captured the ""Butcher of Fallujah""--and the Shameful Ordeal They Later Endured

SOME FLAWS BUT STILL A MUST READ
FIRST I'LL ADDRESS THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS (my apologies for the need to include this statement)There are three consistent patterns through the negative reviews - many are apparently written by current and former Seals (to whom if they are real we owe an incalculable debt of gratitude and support) the second is that the negative comments relate to the relationships and actions of a few people who were NOT involved in the story prior to charges being brought against the Seals and thus are, to the general public, irrelevant to the core story. The real beneficiary of the attacks on the positive reviews is Barack Hussein Obama. If this is in dispute it's not apparent in the negative reviews. There's also the issue that most of the negative comments are made by people pasting the same comment multiple times and by people who have virtually no prior reviews. This pattern is consistent with the pattern of attacks on other books which were not considered friendly to the Obama administration.I would expect that present and former Seals would be extremely concerned that the politicians and ambitions military officers were willing to sacrifice the precious honor , careers and families of effective Seals operating within the ROE for their personal political agendas and aspirations. This is important because the book is critical in that it illuminates the high level of politicization and neutering of of our military under President Obama. The author details that the Seals had to get permission of the Iraqis to conduct their missions and that just getting permission risked lives and delayed missions. Others have detailed the refusal to provide air and artillery support to troops engaged in combat, the decisions made by rear echelon officers and lawyers, not combat leaders.Over in Afghanistan the same political correctness has cost a large number of American lives including those too many Seals . The press has chosen to ignore the increase in casualties in Afghanistan under Obama. Were it Bush, the news would be on the front page on a daily basis. By the time Obama finished his first term 60% of US deaths in Afghanistan had occurred under Obama's 4 years vs 40% under 7+ years under Bush. Obama was too busy formulating HIS Afghanistan policy to listen to or meet with the general commanding the operation. He also forbade the General from discussing his plan. Obama has engaged in a systematic liquidation of the most effective senior military leaders with real combat leadership experience and it is apparent that the FBI is regularly reading the personal email of senior military leaders. This is the real threat to our nation. Suppressing the public's exposure to the story of Honor and Betrayal only assists Obama in this mission.None of this is intended to challenge or dismiss any of the very serious charges made by those writing the poor reviews (many with distinguished military careers and knowledge of the actual facts) nor to dismiss the author's failures to accurately represent the actual roles played by a few critical figures on the periphery of the core story. It's also not dismissive of the assertions of Stolen Valor, fraud, disclosure of information intended to put Seal families at substantial real risk. All those charges need to be addressed by the author.I HAVE READ MANY OF THE POSTS AND I BELIEVE THE CORE STORY IS UNCHALLENGED........ THAT SOMEONE IN HIGH COMMAND AUTHORITY DIRECTED THAT THE SEALS BE PROSECUTED THEIR RIGHTS TO A DEFENSE COMPROMISED AND THAT COMMANDERS PROCEEDED WITH PROSECUTION OF TRUE HEROES FOR CRIMES THEY KNEW THEY DID NOT COMMIT.THE CONSTITUTION WAS SHREDDED FOR SOME POLITICAL EXPEDIENCYThat's the core story and the threat to our Constitution. Present and future Seals as well as all Americans will suffer if we pursue the sideshow at the expense of understanding the larger issue. It's a Carneys favorite trickMake no mistake, this is not a fun book to read. Despite the fact that the three Seals win and escape the enemy with no physical wounds the events leave the reader in deep sorrow and concern for the future, not only for the Seals but for our country as well.Others have aptly described this tragic story. Three young men, the best of the best , independently commit to not only be Navy Seals but to be the best of the Seals. In the midst of their tour in Iraq they have earned the respect of their peers and pursue increasingly dangerous and challenging missions. The highlight of their deployment was an extremely well planned operation to strike deep into the and capture the most wanted terrorist from the middle of an insurgent training camp. The target was renowned for the magnitude and depravity of his actions which included killing and then hanging the burned and abused bodies of US civilian contractors from a bridge. In a beyond the textbook operation the terrorist was captured unharmed, escorted to helicopters waiting in the desert several miles away and flown to the Seal base. At the base he was turned over to a non Seal who was to watch the prisoner until he was handed over the locals. Following the instruction manual for terrorists, the moment the terrorist leader was brought to the Iraqi forces he claimed to have been abused and had some blood on his tunic. The blood came from a wound in his mouth which was most likely self inflicted. The young guard responsible for the prisoner had disappeared several times from his post. His story was that the Seals had beaten the prisoner. However, there were no marks on the prisoner other than the wound inside the mouth. Despite the absence of any real evidence and the often changing stories of the guard , the military high command pushed ahead with an aggressive program to get the Seals to confess. They were held in near isolation for months. Subjected to tricks, demands and threats if they did not "confess". The military ignored the fact that they passed lie detector tests, that they had perfect service records , that they were the ones who captured the prisoner when it would have been so much easier and safer to have simply shot him.In the end the three Seals were tried in separate Court Martials, two in Iraq and one in the United States. In the lead up to the trials the government attorneys were repeatedly shown to have violated the law and military procedures in their efforts to deny the Seals a fair trial. When the military jury heard the first two cases it took only a few hours to render a verdict of not guilty. Despite being blown out, and shown to have been using falsified evidence in the first two trials, the government continued to pursue the prosecution of the last Seal. However, the court sustained the motion that the government's case was so weak that the case was dismissed. But while the Seals won in the courts, the process destroyed their effectiveness. But there was no real justice for the Seals. The was no government reimbursement for the costs that threatened them with bankruptcy and loss of their homes, despite what was malicious prosecution. Their careers were destroyed as they were kept out training and deployments for the years while the trials drug on. They also carried the burden that every action was going to be second guessed. They could no longer be effective teammates and might cost their fellow Seals their lives or prevent the successful completion of the missions. These three men who from the mid teens had lead a Spartan like existence to protect American and Americans were defeated by a faceless beast of bureaucracy, dishonesty and political corruption. Most likely the story, not yet documented, goes back to the initial reports from Iraq and the prisoner's claim to have been abused. The reports would have gone to the FBI and White House. Most likely they presented an irresistible temptation to further punish the military for political gains. In General Cleveland they found a willing accomplice, perhaps he made the decision that he could cooperate with the politicians rather than face the fate that has befallen so many of our military leaders over the past 18 months. The parallels are there in Fast and Furious where the President and Holder injected US guns into Mexico so as to bolster their efforts to blame gun dealers for violence. It also resembles the case of Benghazi where the CIA and State Department knew the attack was a well organized attack, not a spontaneous outbreak of violence resulting from a movie that nobody watched. Yet that did not stop them from throwing the filmmaker in jail for much of a year on trumped up charges. There's a much larger story hiding somewhere but Honor and Betrayal is the foundation of the research and a very interesting but frustrating read for anyone who loves this country.

Urgent, We need help getting the Truth out. Amazon.com is removing Veteran’s, Navy SEALs reviews of “Honor and Betrayal” book as soon as they are is being posted. They are falsifying ratings and protecting a conman, Graham Ware of Scottsdale, AZ. This book is promoting his supporttheseals scam and further endangering our lives. Conman is currently being investigated for attempted murder of SEAL family. Please go to your Amazon.com account and keep posting my review there. Please copy/paste and edit it. Add your own commentary as you see fit. Title: Mr. Robinson and this publisher owe an apology to the Naval Special Warfare Community Review: SHAME on Amazon for deleting posts of our Veterans and Navy SEALs speaking the TRUTH about this book and the facts in question. How many facts are wrong in this book?? This book falsely portrays the scammer, Graham Ware, as a friend of Navy SEALs. Funny, this same ‘advocate’ is currently being investigated for trying to murder the families of Navy SEALs. Graham Ware of Scottsdale, AZ (falsely portrayed in the book as our “supporter”) was exposed by Navy SEALs in July 2012, running a scam called SupportTheSeals. The Navy SEALs who exposed Graham Ware include prominent Navy SEALs: Marcus Luttrell (“Lone Survivor”), Don Shipley (Extreme SEALs Experience), CAPT Larry Bailey (Special Operations Speaks), and other highly decorated Navy SEALS. They issued a Cease and Desist letter to Ware and his organization. In retaliation Graham Ware deliberately transferred secure information to the enemy, leading terrorists to our homes. He even went as far as pretending to be Marcus Luttrell on twitter, making false claims that Marcus was/is his friend. FALSE. Robinson writes that Graham Ware was a “potential” for Special Forces. Laughable! Nothing could be further from the truth! We don’t accept scammers and terrorist helpers into our ranks. And we don’t accept posers either… Stolen Valor is not taken lightly in our Brotherhood. Why would the book fail to mention Graham Ware was running fake Navy SEALs Accounts on Facebook and Twitter? Why did the Mom of our fallen teammate (first Navy SEAL lost in Iraq) have to hire an attorney to keep Ware from stalking her and her charity? We are very protective of our Gold moms. If you want the Truth about honor and BETRAYAL, check out the following excellent expose on this scammer: search “Graham Ware CBS 5 KPHO channel 5” Graham Ware is no friend of the Navy SEALs, although he tries really hard to portray himself and his supportheseals scam as our advocacy group. FALSE! We, the US Navy SEALs have our advocacy group already; it is the UDT-SEAL Association (udtseal dot org). Graham Ware was just recently busted… again! Renown, Cyber-Security Expert, Jeffrey Carr (Author of “Inside Cyber Warfare: Mapping the Cyber Underworld”, ISBN: 978-0-596-80215-8) exposed his new IT scam. Google search: “Graham Ware Jeffrey Carr blog”. Mr. Robinson and this publisher owe an apology to the Naval Special Warfare Community for not checking these facts and promoting this dangerous scammer as our supporter. This books promotion gave him just one more platform to endanger our lives even further. DANGEROUS! Links cannot be posted here so please search Google for: “Graham Ware support the seals”, “ Graham Ware + Fraud”, “Graham Ware redirections”, “Graham Ware CBS 5 KPHO channel 5”, “Graham Ware Jeffrey Carr blog”, “Graham Ware Jeffrey Carr blog”… these links read far better than this book!
