SewellGhost Wire Terminal Block, 14, 16, and 18 AWG

Picked up 4 of these to go with a sewell ghost wire run under my new floor and although they were easy to setup, there were some drawbacks.- Cost - the 4 of these cost nearly as much as the cable. For just a bit of plastic and metal, surprised they cost this much- Top screws - they didn't do a great job of fastening my output cable as my traditional cables came looks with some limited tugging- Stripping hard - you'll encounter this regardless, but stripping the ribbon cable so it was exposed on both sides (to be screwed into the bottom) was a bit of a pain- Missing wall screws - 2 of my 4 came with an extra screw to secure this terminal to the wall, 2 didn't come with it- Minimal improvement vs. threading ghost wire into a banana plug - Manually stripping a 1" run at the top of the ghost cable, ribboning it via scissors into 8 strands, folding each strand on top of each other, then running through a banana plug seemed to work about as well as these terminals, for 1/10th the price. Still, this was faster, and having traditional cables going into your stereo is a bit less unwieldy and more aesthetically pleasing than running the fat ghost wire w. banana plugs at the end into your receiver/amp

These blocks are a bit pricey but works well with the super flat wire purchased. Hardware came in the packaging and relatively easy to install with a razor blade and screw driver.

The part worked well but there were some which had a hole in the back for mounting on the wall and others which did not have the hole which went through. I had to drill out two of the terminals so I could mount it on the wall. If I'm paying $10.00 for thls part I expect that all the parts should be the same.

These were easy to use if installing them at a normal level. Not so easy if the flatwire is already taped to the ceiling.

Bought 100ft of the tape with 4 wires to handle surround sound in the rear. Yes, getting the wires bare is a pain but it's certainly not impossible.My problem is that they have a nice picture showing how the two-wire tape goes into the terminal nicely but they don't tell you that the wires are narrower on the 4-wire tape so you really can only use one of the two set screws because the wire is not fat enough. Plus, they are too far apart for the wires so you have to force them apart. It's really awful. I wrapped electrical tape around all the extra copper that had to remain bare because of this.Also note: because of the issues above, you will not be able to add two terminals side by side unless you cut the tape down the middle and even then they will not sit flat on a wall next to each other. At best you have to stagger them and at worst you just don't connect them to the wall. Speaking of which, no screws came to attach the terminals to the wall.

These are perfect to make the transition from flat speaker wire to a more conventional wire. They are easy to use and easy to conceal while providing no apparent loss in sound quality. They are somewhat expensive, but after receiving and installing them, they are well worth the cost.

Bought 4 of these to use with flat copper wire I ran under my living room rug for surround channels. They are sort of difficult to work with and the flat wire should be stripped and folded several times for the best results. I would recommend/buy again.
