The whole family happened to be in the kitchen when this was opened and it made a great first impression. It appears very well made and I can't wait to get to work painting it. It doesn't look like it'll need any additional sanding or prep which is great. Although it's nice enough you could easily leave this plain, it's really just a great looking piece.The little drawers are a generous size. I grabbed a Lego mini figure and there's plenty of room for a second. I have two kids and really don't want to buy two calendars or have to refill it so each kid can have a turn, so it's nice that the drawers are roomy enough I could place two items in each.The seller has a VIP tester club and I got this for free. However I wouldn't have hesitated to buy this outright based on the reaction of my family who were not aware I got this for free. It's been a big hit, and for good reason, this actually is a really great product.

I bought these for my grandkids this year so they could decorate them and I could fill the drawers. The decorating was very fun, with endless options. The only disappointment was the drawers were so tiny that it was difficult to put anything larger than a hershey's kiss in them. I had to be creative and put little promise notes inside some drawers and candy or money in others.

Highly prefer these drawers to the kind with the little semicircle on top; these are much easier to pull out. I had read that not all of the drawers fit into every hole, so I was careful not to toss them all out willy nilly and try to replace them. I had a lot of fun decorating this. Not sure if i really recommend ribbon or not, but I'm fine with it on mine. If I buy more DIY wooden calendars, I will look for the shape of these drawers. Roomy inside the drawer on this one, too.

I have five-year-old twin neighbors and we play together often. I was going to be gone for a few weeks and I wanted them to be able to keep track of when I'd be back so they wouldn't miss me so much. This little house was perfect! I filled each drawer with little things like stickers, candy, toys, notes, etc, and it kept their spirits up the whole time. Then they painted it, filled the drawers, and surprised me with it! And I filled it up again and gave it back to them for the Christmas countdown. It's a special little shared tradition now :-)

The moment we opened this my toddler has been obsessed with opening the little drawers. We’re going to use it for sorting little objects by color. Currently she is sorting little pompoms, I’ve placed different color stickers in the front so she can match. It can be used in so many different ways. The drawers fit a bite size snickers chocolate if you are wondering about the size. I must say, while most drawers open smoothly, we’ve had to struggle to open a few of the drawers. We’ve solved the problem with some little sand paper to smooth out some of the corners so they all fit properly. This is the reason I took a star away. I like the neutral color, and I’m really considering not even painting it, that way I can use it for different things.

Perfect for a diy project with my kids! Drawers are big enough to fit little candies for all three of my kids.

So, the product looks exactly as advertised, and, technically meets the dimensions mentioned as well. However...-even using a light coat of spray paint to design these can ruin how the drawers fit into the cubbies-the cubbies/drawers are slightly inconsistent in size, so if multiple unmarked drawers are removed at the same time (as I did with all of them, to paint them), you will have to spend quite a bit of time trying to figure out which drawer best fits into which cubby-the measurements provided for the drawers are for the fullest size of the drawers themselves, not for the volume that they can hold; you loose about 1/4-inch on each side (1/2-inch total length, 1/2-inch total width, 1/4-inch height)The wood itself is very lightweight and would easily dent/scratch/chip if not taken care of, and again I take issue with not really being able to paint them well; but all in all it is cute and does look like the picture advertised. Just, be aware of the notes above before purchasing. The drawer measurements definitely effect the options of what can be fit in there.

This is a great advent calendar for your DIY project. Amazon was quick in replacing a damaged calendar and the 2nd one arrived intact. I painted it with 2 coats of white acrylic paint and then glued my images on. My kids are having fun creating a different scene everyday in the little "loft" area. The drawers are small but adequate for 2 pieces of candy. Or 2 Lego minifigures. Or 2 small boxes of Nerds candy. I see this product is currently unavailable but hopefully Amazon will carry this item again.

I had a great time painting and decorating this for my daughter. I found that the drawers were slightly smaller than I had anticipated. I thought I would be able to place a chapstick in the drawer but could not. Tiny toys also did not fit. I ended up having to put things like a scrunchie, small candy and rings inside. The product itself is sturdy.

I love this calendar. It was so much fun to decorate. The size is good, but the quality of the wood is very soft. I looked a long time for an advent calendar because I wanted good quality wood. You can see in my photo I turned the drawers around. I didn't like the cut corners & some were difficult to pull out. I used pushpins with a bead on the top for a drawer knob & most of them I could push into the wood by hand. I wanted goid quality wood. This is not it.
