Tamanoi Sushi No Ko (Seasong Powder) 5.29oz/150g (10pack)

I have used this powdered vinegar for years in making sushi rice. It takes the guess work out of how much moisture can be added to the cooked rice, which is an issue with using liquid vinegar. This brand of powdered vinegar is the only one I have ever used. I am actually not sure there is another one.

I love sushi, and sushi rice. I stopped buying long-grain rice and went all medium grain, and bought a Zojirushi IH with sushi rice setting. I've hand made sushi rice using vinegar and sugar, and also the pre-mixed bottled stuff. It's messy, and time consuming to get the sushi rice just right (not soggy). This mix makes it's a lot easier, just add to your warm cooked rice... and literally, 3 mins later, you got sushi rice. Sure, it's not going to be restaurant quality, but you get that vinegary zing that's pretty close. Grill up some eel, and get a bottle of unagi sauce... you got yourself a tasty rice bowl! Order the 10 pack, and it's a great price... as these are nearly 3x the price at the store.

Gave my Grandson a sushi making kit for his B-day with rice, nori, Tamanoi seasong powder and rice wine vinegar. He liked the Tamanoi powder over the vinegar- to flavor the rice - as it kept the rice dry and provided great flavor . He makes great sushi - also gave him a gift card to a good fish market.

Trying to increase our fish intake, so we have sushi night once a week. This is perfect for making sushi rice. What's even more perfect is this seller - best deal no matter where you go or look.
