Nice Quality
I was so disappointed to find I ordered the wrong item for my Kindle b/c I really liked this Speck. It was great quality and pretty. Speck is my favorite company for iPhone cases b/c it protected mine, screen up, when I ran it over with my minivan. So you can see why I was bummed when it didn't fit (again due to my ordering the wrong item).

You can never go wrong with specks!
I was debating whether to buy this case or not. But my instinct did not fail me and its from Specks, you can never go wrong with them! I love the case! It fits perfectly on my 7inch Kindle Fire HD. The leather look gives it a nice touch of a folio. I truly recommend it if you look for a slim and fit case.

Great with glaring flaws.
Over all I would say that I am happy with the product.After about a year with it though these are my observations.- The molding of the case no longer securely fits the kindle, it still snaps into place but the slightest pressure will pull it off.- there is no way to stand the reader in portrait.- you cannot charge the kindle while it is closed- Perhaps the biggest issue i have is that i cannot charge the kindle while it is in the landscape stand mode. The USB plugin is at the bottom of the kindle and therefore covered when standing.This makes it difficult to read when the battery is low. It also presents a challenge if I am watching a movie and don't want to drain the battery but still want the kindle to be standing.The build quality is great and except for the last issue I would have given it 4 stars.

Okay, but no wake/sleep
The description here doesn't mention it, but the description on Speck's website says the case has integrated magnets that enable the Kindle Fire HD's wake/sleep. It does not. Also there seems to be about 1/8th of an inch gap between one of the corners of the plastic case and the tablet itself. Still seems to protect it well, and the feel of the case is good.

Going to be Returned
At the store this case had all the elements I wanted for a Kindle case. Actually using it is another store. The sleep/wake function is the reason this case will be returned. When you fold the cover behind the Kindle it puts the Kindle into sleep mode. If you don't fold the cover back then the other design features make it difficult to hold with one hand.

Nearly perfect
The cover fits and looks great. It is very high quality and nice to hold and touch. Compact and close fitting. Cover must be open to. Charge/connect.

kindle HD case
A good sturdy and lightweight case. It fits perfectly and the stand feature is also very good. It doesn't put the kindle into auto sleep but wasn't sold with this feature so not a problem and you can set it to do this yourself anyway. For a fiver it's excellent value

Nice case
Great item, protects my Fire HD very well, nice and slim. The closure clip is a nice idea and well designed. Only downside is that the case needs to be in the open position whilst charging the tablet, but hat is not a deal breaker for me.

Lovely case that does a good job of holding the kindle
Lovely case that does a good job of holding the kindle. Only complaint is that when stood up the charging port is blocked which is a bit annoying

GREAT QUALITY FROM SPECK
Great quality Speck cover - would have been slightly better if you could charge it with the cover closed ( a simple opening on cover spine ) however I am very pleased with it.

INTROVABILE
Davvero introvabile una custodia così ben fatta per il Kindle Fire HD vecchia generazione. In circolazione ce ne sono una marea che bloccano il tablet con elastici o con imbracature assai grossolane.Questa custodia, invece, ha una scocca a incastro perfetta e la possibilità di leggio in tre posizioni.Non aggiungo la quinta stelletta solo perchè per caricare il tablet occorre lasciarla aperta e manca la funzione sleep/wake, ma mi sono già abituata e trovo questa custodia decisamente raffinata.

Nicht zu Ende gedacht!
Material und Verarbeitung gut, leider lässt sich das Kindle Fire HD nur bei geöffneter Schutzhülle mit dem Ladekabel verbinden. Es wäre besser, wenn die Entwickler vor der Serienproduktion alle notwendigen Funktionalitäten ausprobieren würden. Wie gesagt, nicht zu Ende gedacht!
