Follow the footsteps of your personal evolution
I have been using Hal Elrod’s The Miracle Morning Journal with excellent results for the past three years. This Christmas I bumped into Dominik Spenst’s The 6-Minute Diary, and I have been using it for just one week. I can hardly believe it, but it’s even better than The Miracle Morning!I love The Miracle Morning - I will continue to use it and to recommend it every time I can, because I know how good it is.But The 6-Minute Diary is in a different plane – deeper, wiser, more inspiring and revealing. The prompts are so well thought-out that in just the space of a week I have made two discoveries that completely reframed important aspects of my productivity and my relationships. The 6-Minute Diary is also much more pleasant to work with -and to look at- than The Miracle Morning – much as I love it, The Miracle Morning has all the charms of an accountant’s spread sheet (and they haven’t bothered to improve the layout in years) whereas The 6-Minute Diary has been crafted and designed with an artist’s sensibility. Am I being superficial by pointing out such things? I don't think so. This is a tool you will be using every single good or bad, happy or sad day of the year, so it only helps that it is a beauty to open and look at. I know the beautiful pages make me more thoughtful and considerate when I write in them…i.e. they nudge me to think harder before I spoil their pristine surface. Is it only me? If you had to scribble a note, however short and simple, would it make any difference if you were writing on the corner of the back page of yesterday’s newspaper or on a sheet of lovingly prepared vellum? This is what I mean – you’d force yourself to think a bit deeper before you spoiled the page. And that only helps when reflection is the whole point of the exercise.I have read hundreds of Self-Help books, and taken too many courses. I have certificates on NLP, Mindfulness and Erikssonian Hypnosis, read and written extensively on Psychoanalisis, Theory of Knowledge and CBT. And this is why I can say that the 64-page introductory section that Dominik Spenst has prepared for The 6-Minute Diary –which you could skip, but I would urge you to read attentively- is the briefest, more engagingly written and scientifically supported introduction to the topics of Positive Psychology, Habits and Self-Reflection anywhere. I was already impressed by this when a few days after I bought the Diary, Mr Spenst sent me via email a very pretty and useful pdf titled The Golden Morning Routine, which he personally sends to all customers, and which comprises five scientific arguments for the beneficial effect of a morning routine, as well as examples of the morning routines of 25 successful people, from politicians and other pop stars to Marcus Aurelius, Stephen Covey and Immanuel Kant. The 6-Minute Diary promises to be “a priceless journey into the most exciting and emotional realms of your own memory” and to allow you to “follow the footsteps of your personal evolution”(p.15). I believe it will deliver. Having only used it for a week, I’m already looking forward to more discoveries with The 6-Minute Diary as my companion.

If you are thinking about getting a journal, get this one
I never was into journalling, but this journal is very easy to use and makes a real difference to my days. It really just takes a few minutes. Can totally recommend. Paper and cover are good quality.

Made me feel more positive in the first week
Lovely quality. I ordered grey as it was the cheapest and is a nice grey! I've only been using it for a week, but have noticed a difference already. Writing things down seems to make them stick in your head and setting goals early in the morning motivates as you want to be able to tick them off in the evening even if you don't feel like doing them and this brings satisfaction. I've written in journals before and they can easily start focusing on the negative. In the introduction it's explained why we are much more likely to remember negative over postive experiences. Only being able to write about the good stuff is a real mood lifter.I would say it takes a little longer than 6 minutes, or maybe just me, because it really makes you think about what you're going to write. I really hope I stick to this, just what I need and I would buy this for other people

Uplifting and easy to form the habit!
I have had multiple of the 6 minute diaries, I have found them to be easy to use, uplifting and found myself managing the stresses of life much better than when I wasn't using them. I would highly recommend to anyone who is unsure whether to buy one. Try it, it is a helpful tool to keep yourself happy!

Amazing
This is amazing and had such a positive impact on me. My wife had been telling me for years to journal my day and write things down, I never listened and thought I could handle all that life had to throw at me, I was wrong. Taking time out in the morning and evening to write for a few minutes has been a revelation. My head seems much clearer and what I am wanting from life is reiterated daily via the positive affirmation.

Lovely Diary but……..
Lovely book, great design and good concept. But…. 85 pages of waffle. This was too much and does anyone read this? I thought it was 85 pages of selling the book when you have already bought it. I skimmed these pages very briefly and after reading them, and before I had even started the diary, it made me dislike the book a bit. It is a shame, as I actually like the diary itself. I would buy it again if the introduction was shorter.
