Crystal Plex - Lake and Pond Algaecide Treatment - Liquid Copper Algaecide Kills and Prevents Various Types of Algae (Planktonic, Filamentous, Chara) - 1 Gallon Treats up to 1 Acre

We have about a 1/4 acre pond that turned into pea soup as summer dragged on. It was 80% covered with planktonic algae right below the surface of the water. Together with some black dye and this we’ve pretty much knocked out the algae. I used a power sprayer to treat the pond and over the course of 48-72 hours the algae was gone. I’ll treat again in 14 days to keep it at bay. This product worked great for us.

Be very careful around your pond with the vegetarian you want to keep. This product works. It will kill all the bad growth in the pond and on the shore line.

I have had great success with both Crystal Plex and Crystal Blue. I am giving only 4 stars because after looking like a successful application of Crystal Plex, two days later I had to apply another gallon dose because the algae reappeared just about immediately. I had also applied a dose two weeks before. I have never had a problem before and have used it successfully for several years. I am hoping this last dose does the trick. I am attributing the reappearance of the algae to the unusual weather this summer. It has been hotter than normal, and except for early spring, we have had no rain. My overall experience with these products has been remarkable. I am certain I will be able to give it 5 stars next time around. The two gallons I just received are for future use. The pond I use it in is a swimming pond for the grand and great grand children( and this year the older adults

Applied the entire gallon using a sprayer and results are minimal. To get serious results, it looks like I would have to apply at least 25 gallons based on what effect the 1 gallon had. And that would be a really poor value for the money! Some of the worst and contradictory instructions I've ever seen. It says you can put this product directly into the pond and it also says dilute 1 gallon to 10 gallons of water and it also says apply so many oz's per 1000 sq ft. If I didn't need this stuff right now, I'd send it back. Going to spray it undiluted directly onto the algae and see what happens.

Holy smokes, I knew it would look great because my neighbor uses some dye. BUT this exact brand last for a LONG time!(I have a 1/2 acre spring fed pond, not much water flow but heavy winds on the surface). I put half the bottle out and for 5 weeks it was beautiful, then heavy rains and clouds came. Suddenly after 8 weeks (no more added) it has came back tenfold, so maybe some stuck to the algae on the bottom or dead leaves in a dead zone and the rain mixed it up. Beautiful feature and the fish do not mind, helps with the algae since no water flow. Beautiful. Would be nice if the price was lower as all of their products sell greatly.

Works ok....but still lots of mug not clear

I have a 1/4 acre farm pond that started to have floating algae after winter. I use a pond blue dye that has kept the algae under control but did not help coming into spring. I read the reviews on this product and thought it was worth the try. I used a battery operated sprayer and mixed the liquid 13 ozs to a gallon of water (10:1) per the instructions. I also ran my aerator for 18 hours/day instead of just 12 hours. I used 3 gallons of the blended mixture (39 oz) and sprayed around the edge of the pond and then poured another half gallon close to the aerators to help disperse the liquid. Our pond is fed by an underwater spring so there is only a minimal flow in the pond. After 2-3 days, there was no visible algae along the edge of the pond and within a week, all signs of the floating algae were gone and have not come back. Great product and well worth the money. Our pond is stocked with catfish, carp and sun fish and a few box turtles. We did not see any detrimental effect to these fish. All are still active...we only feed the fish, not a fisherman.

This year has been particularly bad for pond algae. We are still treating, and still have algae. The customer service dept at BluChem Group has been very helpful, even though we purchased their product through Amazon.
