Since they don't make these for my truck I used a little alteration and it works for me. It has metric threads so the top bolt fit right in the place where the wire strap goes. The tricky part is to drill and tap for (bottoming tap if you can) or (take the bracket loose that holds the tail gate) 5/16 threaded hole in to the bracket at the bottom. Cut a 5/16 bolt off with a 1/2 inch long shank to fit. I used a rubber washer or a piece of plastic gas line to keep the strut to one side when assembled. Watch carefully as you close the tail gate and adjust accordingly. There are two different lengths of studs. I used the short one (at the top) and there is just enough room to close the tail gate. Also to add strength to the side of the truck, and it needs it, put this 1.5 x 3 x1/8 flat bracket behind the stud. I got the bracket at Menards for $1.99.

Don't work on an 2020 np 300. Can't get tailgate to close, struts going all the way and stopping tailgate can't close.

I disliked that my instructions were not in the box MABY BECAUSE IT WAS APPARENTLY A RETURN. I COULD NOT USE BECAUSE OF MISSING PARTS !!!!!!!

This item arrived without instructions or a template. I was therefore not able to install and returned the item.
