Do NOT use with Ethanol Fuel!!!
Bought as a replacement for the fuel pickup in 2011 my pontoon boat.DO NOT USE ETHANOL FUEL with this. IT WILL disintegrate. The original broke and fell down into the tank leaving me stranded 1/4 mile out. Previous owner used regular pump gas. The pipe was so brittle.. slight pressure caused it to crumble. Cut the hose to required length with a sharp blade or hacksaw. Does not have a wire filter on the end. Though I was able to use the original wire mesh filter from the original tube.

Critical part when you need it
I suspected my old pickup tube was degraded based on problems I had with my old primer bulb, audible bubbles in the tank, and debris caught in a downstream filter. As it turned out, my old pickup tube is apparently fine; otherwise identical to this item except it is approximately 16" long and has a brass pre-filter melted onto the flat end. I ended up saving my original as a spare part, opting to cut this tube down to my needed 16" length and cut a 45 degree bevel on the end. This raises my fuel pickup height about 10mm from original and eliminates potential in-tank clogging in the brass screen. I'm relying on another filter in my fuel supply line downstream from the tank, with visual indication of debris.I'd buy another if I needed one in a second.

Works great on custom tanks.
I bought a couple of these to use on some aluminum fuel tanks that I built and they work great. It is a little misleading that it states they are 1/4" NPT, but that refers to the fuel line connection and not to the tank connection, which is 3/8" NPT. The machining on the piece is good and the threads are very true, it uses a sort of plastic for the pickup tube that so far has been very durable and is easy to cut to length. There is no filter on the end of the tube which is a plus to me because I prefer any trash to be captured in my glass filter further downstream where it's easy to see and remove.

Hard to trim to length but worked well
You have to be careful putting the fuel line valve into the filler tube as it will break if it gets to tight. I had to order a whole new set and this time was way more cautious when installing.

Product availability and price on Amazon...sold me again !!
the old style pickup for moeller tanks was about 2 feet of fuel line with a screen attached. Effective but after ten years and all the ethanol in our fuels now I had to replace. these work great and are designed so they do not need to be cut to fit. I like hoe the old style had screening to prevent debris from being sucked up. My onle wish was that these had an internal screen like the old style. I just check my water collector filter and microfilter more often now. Overall, its the right replacement for the older style moeller tanks

Perfect fit, best price.
Fits perfectly on Moller tank. They have eliminated the small screen element the tip. A wise decision. BlI could not find a better price.

This is actually a 3/8NPT x 1/4NPT 24" aluminum withdrawal tube.
I bought this for a custom tank I'm fabricating. I welded a 1/4NPT bung on the tank for this to fit into, based on what I thought I was ordering.Unfortunately, the male threads that go in the tank are 3/8 NPT on this part. The outlet port is 1/4NPT, but it needs a 3/8 NPT bung to thread into. That piece of information would have been good to know when I bought it. The card on the packaging says "3/8NPT x 1/4NPT 24" ALUM WTHDRL". Why isn't that the heading for this product? Now I have to order a 3/8 NPT bung for my tank, cut out the 1/4NPT one I welded in before, and weld on a 3/8 NPT fitting instead.Other than the size frustration, it looks like an adequate part.
