It opened my mind to seeing things differently and more creatively linked
This book is like an Owner's Manual for any thinking and creative human being. I've been reading it, pondering it, discussing it with my friends and colleagues. Koestler is a classic thinker who coined the word, biosiation. Once I groked the enormity of biosiation in the creative process, it seemed to activate a deeper quality of creativity in my own work.I'm keeping this book as a go-to read when ever i'm in a creative cup-du-sac. A must read, a must resource, a must way of thinking for stimulating creative writing, art, invention, thinking, speaking . . . having been written in the 1960's, it seems archaically written and referenced, and that seems to be a great asset to think in this new way about the timeless classics.

A favorite of mine for four decades plus
When I was in high school in Ann Arbor, MI, in the sixties, I carried a copy of Koestler's book The Act of Creation with me everywhere I went. I have bought several copies over the years when I lost my original through various moves, even when it was out of print and hard to find. Yes, it is that good.

Act of creation- rejected-accepted in spite of rejection
The product is in excellent condition, the price is right. Nonetheless, once the order was made there was no way I could reverse the process.I ordered this book. However, a few hours later, I realized I indeed had a copy of the book in my library.I contacted Amazon and the seller.I received an automated response from Amazon. The seller never responded in even a polite manner. I can accept this if we are talking about a huge logistical processing engine. I cannot accept this type of behaviour from a small operation. At the end of the day, it is great to have this priceless book at the price paid.

Brilliant book did not deserve this shoddy lazy digital version
I really loved this book and have the paper version, but I wanted the ebook to have with me and score. This is by far the laziest ebook conversion I've ever seen. Chapters aren't marked, many figures are missing, no table of contents at all, quotes aren't quoted but are just put in line with the text. Don't buy the book, these morons do not deserve to be supported.

Excellent Book, Horrible E-book Conversion
The book itself is a wonderful musing on the mechanics of creativity from solid scientific foundations without stripping out the romance of the process. Its' age shows with Koestler's overwrought poetic language, but also serves as a massive cultural springboard into deep thinking's writings and methods of creatives throughout history. Dr Alan Kay, instrumental in modern computing interaction, has mentioned the books influence on his work on several occasions. However, the book as it appears electronically is horribly under-produced. I'm grateful it still includes the critical illustrations, but beyond that there is no formatting or text styling. Chapter headings, sections, and quotations which were well-delineated in print versions, don't even get so much as a 'bold' styling to differentiate them from the plain text. In fact, the entire thing reeks of a rushed ocr-job. Headings run straight into text on some occasions, and foot notes run-on into the text with no breaks whatsoever. This is a wonderful book, and on the whole I don't regret the purchase as i want to support the availability of works like this in a searchable, malleable electronic format, but be warned that the presentation borders on ruining the book altogether. As this is not a narrative work, this weighs down the comprehension of the content immensely.

Very Different approach to creativity
Its a very good book, scholarly writing in all details possible. Excellent. The part i disliked the most was very small unreadable font and strain on eyes. I wanted to return the same for this reason only, but since the return period was over i could not.Request Amzon to be clear on font size of the book with actual illustration.
