Now retired, I like to work with wood. So I thought I’d splash out and buy this Evolution mitre saw to replace a 15+ year old one. Not at all disappointed.. Brilliant to use. The soft start is great. With others, when they fire up, they sometimes feel like they’re going to take your arm off!! The mitre and bevel cuts are a delight to use and after checking, no adjustment was necessary when taken straight “out of the box”. Even a simple thing, like the cord tidy, is a useful addition that other manufacturers don’t bother with. Plus, the quick release clamps are superb. A good sturdy machine. Money well spent. Highly recommended.

I have used this for just under a year now and found it extremely useful. It needed minimal set up (basically ready to use out the box).I use it in conjunction with the mitre saw stand which is very sturdy. So far, I have found it simple and safe to use.

I don't normally write a review on tools but I had too write one on this saw... its the best mitre saw I have ever used, it has a slow start so it doesn't kick back or jolts as it starts to spin, it's multi material blade does as it says which is brilliant and especially for the price for the blade as well. The accuracy has being a big part in my use for the saw as I use it for precision work. The saw very capable and easy to use. It hast to be built but is very simple. There is a video that shows you how to fit the blade and how to check it, I could go on but I rate this saw as 5 stars and having own it for 6 months and use it day in and day out it has being very reliable and hasn't had any difficulty cutting through anything I've thrown at it so far, can't rate this saw enough.

Second order, as first one box was battered however does need calibration. (YouTube helped me).

great saw, been accurate and functional

Its not often I take the time to review a product that I bought for my DIY jobs, but this Evolution Mitre Saw is without question worth the effort. Below are just a few overwhelming positives: 1) Will comfortably cut through a 4X4 fence post. 2) The cut itself using the wood cutting disk is absolutely perfect with minimal to no blow-out on the cut 4X4 posts. (two disk types supplied, one for wood/timber the other disk for metal/plastic ect ect) 3) All the functions that come standard with this saw feel purposeful, exact and very well designed. 4) The laser cutting guide on this machine is spot on. I know some purest out their may think a laser is quite gimmicky, but this opinion is debatable and I use mine every cut. 5) The R255 SMS-DB mitre saw can be fully adjusted to the uses preferences, but like mine no adjustment was needed as all levels were correct from factory. 6) You get a 3 YEARS warranty with this Mitre Saw and registering the saw was a breeze. This saw for the cost is unbeatable and if you can get over the fact its not a ",mainstream saw" and decide to buy this saw, you will not be disappointed in the slightest.

I honestly spent months researching mitre saws, and had a reasonable budget which made my final decision harder, as i tend to opt for Bosch for all my power tools. im a 50 DIY'er with a wife that has a very long list of things i need to do around the house we are still renovating. Mainly covers door trims, skirting board and the odd stud wall. I wanted to the dual mitres and it was important that i was able to cut wider materials. I had an old small mitre saw and it just able covered the skirting so having the 300mm X 90mm is great. Worth noting that the startup is really nice - not the usual bang you get with most powertools. (I do like that, and it also slows the process down slightly which is not imo a bad thing, afterall no one wants an accident and im not getting younger) nice build quality, the manuals are pants and if like me you buy the stand (note it is a pain to mount the bolts - so be fore warned - get a coffee in and grab a seat you will be there for sometime... ) I would recommend this to family (however im sure they will borrow it)

Incredible value for the money. Easy to set up and seems to be very accurate.
