It was never easier for the interested musician to explore the world of Gypsy Jazz than with the new GJ-5 from Cigano! Some specifications we scaled down to meet this demand at an entry level price point, while still giving the player the highest quality instrument possible. You won't find a better value on the market anywhere!

I bought it because of what it was, regardless of price.
Very well made for it's price point. As someone who remembers the days when your only option with guitars was either high price/high quality or low price/low quality, this new era of 'inexpensive and well made' imports definitely challenges some old preconceptions. As far as the tone, that is exactly why I bought this Cigano D5.My wanting this one had nothing to do with it favorable economics, although that was definitely a very nice bonus. I objectively preferred the punchy tone from the less expensive, laminate guitar when playing La Pompe. If the laminate guitar had been more expensive, then I would've paid more for it.The whole narrative surrounding guitar tone is over-emphasized to the point of crossing over into utter superstition, but there are some credible nuances that a knowledgeable person wearing a blindfold could appraise. The D5 has the classic "Gypsy Jazz Guitar" tone we're after; I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who, when wearing a blindfold and presented with 10 different guitars of different makes, would be able to identify this one as being any 'less expensive' than the others. The instrument itself did require some basic set-up work. It's hard to get too picky given the price point of the guitar, but the frets were a little grittier than I prefer, so I had to polish them. Also fitted the bridge section a bit better to the top and cut in some light notches for the strings to ride in.Overall, totally recommended. If you're someone who suffers from headstock envy, well, then there's nothing that will do for you, short of spending the most money possible. As a working instrument for people interested in playing guitars rather than buying symbols of status, this lives up in every way expected.

Great guitar for the price
Great guitar for the price. Needed a bit of a tweak on trussrod after a few weeks but overall, no complaints

Great guitar for the price!
You get what you pay for: a sturdy, functional guitar that's good for a beginner, or if you dont' want to travel with something more expensive. Or even as an economic backup. The tone is a bit tinny, but you expect that with a lower quality build. Ultimately, it's a great guitar for what it is. It feels good to play, sounds good, and is delightfully inexpensive. Nice.

Sturdy, neat construction
Very surprised! Sturdy, neat construction. Good woods and excellent tone and in tune. Loud! Will use it to GIG after I lower the action a bit a and put a pup on it. Great guitar for the money, set it up right and it will be as good as the higher price axe.
