BOSCAM SunGo Solar Powered Wireless Reversing Camera, No Wiring Minutes Installation, Digital Wireless Rear View Camera with Stable Signal, Night Vision Reverse Camera

I have had a Boscam K1 camera before which was easy enough to install, but a small amount of wiring was required for the reversing signal. The Boscam SunGo solar system takes the ease of installment to a whole new simple level. You simply take it out the box, give it an initial full charge and fit it to your number plate. Its tidy and smart, and the 3M sticky pads are rock solid. The lower solar panel sits below the plate and the actual camera sits above. The monitor is colour, is very clear and the suction bracket is super sticky so adheres well to the plastic console (if you don't want it on the windscreen). Absolutely no wiring involved, other than plugging it into your vehicles 12v socket. The monitors 12v plug is well designed with a separate USB socket, and a good wire length should you want to wire it directly into your vehicles system rather than use the 12v plug. The monitor is clear and works extremely well, in colour, even in the dark (with the reversing light illuminated). As its not wired to a reversing light to activate the camera you simply press any button on the monitor or use the remote button (supplied). I really liked the Boscam K1, but the SunGo Solar camera is genuinely fantastically easy to fit and has a great camera and monitor. I prefer it. I fitted mine to my camper van, preventing me having to do any wiring. The signal strength between the monitor and camera is really good.If you need a reversing camera I highly recommend this one.

Came the next day. I had just returned a product that was identical from another company because the battery in the solar panel case wasn’t charging. However, it must have been a one off because this is working. Everything about this one is the same as the one I returned except the cardboard band around the containing box was a different colour. Two companies same product?. However, I cannot remember a large button with the first, below. The reason I went for this other company is because the first company’s price had gone up by £20, and this was £10 cheaper than I originally paid . I didn’t want to pay £20 more because of their fault, so I looked around.To the product. First, plug the battery case / solar panel case into a USB. Charge it for about 4 hours and the LED that was red goes off and a green one next to it goes on. Then, I tested it before anything else. I plugged the screen into the cigarette lighter/socket to see if the battery/camera unit connected to the screen via the WiFi. I think I turned the screen on via the middle button on the side of the screen and pressed the pair button on the screen. It work fine. Then the real test. Mounted the camera unit to the number/licence plate without obscuring the plate, it can be done but, it is tight. The units, screen and camera are about 6.5 metres apart (on a 7.5 m van). The picture is excellent especially for the price and the ease of installation. The camera can be adjusted up and down, as can, I believe, the contrast, though I haven’t needed to. The only fiddling I did was to take the plug/wire out of the solar to reroute it so it didn’t cross over the sticky camera pad. But this was easy enough with the small tool they provided. A button about an inch in diameter comes with it, haven’t used it as I can reach the button on the side of the screen. The clamp sticks to the windscreen. The screen goes off after a little while as I guess they think that you should have done your reversing by then. Press the button, and it instantly comes back on. Easy install. Seems like a great product. Hope it lasts. .

This product was purchased as a reversing aid as I have reduced mobility to look over shoulder while reversing. With the camera being solar powered makes the installation straight forward as power isn't required from the car electrical system.The camera and screen is clear and gives a good view angle but a look over shoulder is still needed just for peace of mind.I did have a problem with the camera after a few weeks because the camera battery wouldn't charge. The help from customer service was excellent. After a couple of checks to verify the problem, the camera was replaced within 2 days.The performance of the camera and the support when I had a problem meant that I've brought a second unit without any worries.

After watching the video about how easy it was to install, I thought I can do that. I did purchase a larger number plate as I could not remove my old one too well stuck on. It was really easy to install. I received an email inviting me to extend my warranty to 18months free of charge which I did. The picture has been excellent and has helped when reversing to hook up my caravan or just in general parking. The prices I was being quoted for fully fitted reversing cameras was so extreme. Also there is the issue if anything happens with your electrics in your vehicle after. This unit gives you great quality and no issue with your own electrics. Then unfortunately my camera stopped working. I sent an email to Joanne ( who had emailed me my warranty) at Customer Service at Auto-Vox asking if there was anything else I could do and a very helpful email was received back. Unfortunately that did not resolve my issue and Joanne had no hesitation in sending me out a new solar panel camera unit. The customer service was second to none, I was really impressed as this unit was not £1000s of pounds, but I was treated so professionally. I have to say my experience with this company is the service I would now expect from other companies. I cannot rate this company and the unit highly enough.

After trying a second one of these (why??) it worked great for the first couple oh months, then wouldn’t solar charge, so I bought a very long usb to plug it in while in situ & it still didn’t work! Matter of fact, it’s never worked after the first couple of months …. Past return date by then obviously…. Great!Don’t waste your money!
