Very nice
I do actually rate this. After 2 months of nightly use, my 43yr old male eyes do look and feel smooth and hydrated, with a reductionin the few moderate lines I had. I rate NIOD FECC above this, as it gave me the best results, but the application of this is better and sinks in well, whereas the FECC leaves a slightly tacky feel. Only gripe i have is with the tiny nozzle the product dispenses from. When you go to use it, you initially pump out a piece that has dried up and have to waste it. Which over 2months has possibly an extra 2-4weeks worth.

Fabulous eye serum
What can I say except this is a wonderful eye serum from the initial unboxing to using it. The serum contains r-Retinoate which is eight times stronger than normal retinol. The packaging is beautiful, it makes you feel very special and this carries on right through. I particularly love the bottle, it’s very like a perfume bottle, it has a push button dispenser which means you will only use what you need and not have any waste, you really only need a tiny amount for both eyes as a little does go a long way. The serum itself is gorgeous, it’s very lightweight and one pump was enough for both of my eyes. It has a lovely silkily smooth texture and absorbs very quickly into your skin. It has no fragrance and leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft and hydrated, I could feel a very slight tingling sensation after application but it was barely noticeable. The best thing about this serum is that you can use it both day and night, giving your skin the best chance to absorb as much of the ingredients as possible and to allow them to work their magic even when you are sleeping. From the unboxing to using this is by far the best eye serum I have used and I highly recommend it.

Effective, but very expensive.
I'm going to be extremely tough on this product, which I think is fair given its high price-tag. I also have to declare that I'm male, so not really the target market for this product. I went into reviewing this Medik8 r-Retinoate Serum as a bit of a sceptic, and after using it for a couple of weeks, I'm still somewhat sceptical, though I will admit that it is effective. The serum comes well presented in an attractive box with a magnetic clasp. The pump bottle is plastic and quite small, but stylish and nicely made. You only need to use a tiny amount per application as it does spread really well. The off-white serum has a silky, non-greasy feel, and it's quite light and fresh feeling on the skin. Interestingly, it tells you not to use it on your eyelids. I'm not sure why. I guess the most important question is, "Does it work?" Well, the answer is... yes, sort of. This serum is supposed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. I'm in my 40s and the condition of my skin is OK. Like most people of my age, I have early crows feet, dark circles, and brow wrinkles, and this serum does appear to help with those. My skin definitely feels smoother and fine lines around my eyes are less noticeable after a couple of weeks of use. But, and this is a big "but", I'm not the kind of person that has a very regular skin care regime. I wash my face twice daily and apply moisturiser now and again. Because of that fact, I do feel that adhering to a daily cleanse/tone/moisturise regime would likely yield similar results to the serum. There's a lot of clever marketing and spurious "science" that goes on with all beauty products. You'll notice there are a lot of caveats on the "scientific" data used to market this serum. Words like "Super Molecule," "Retinyl Retinoate" and "Multi-weight Hyaluronic Acid" are thrown at you like they're meant to mean something. Type "Retynil Retinoate" into a search engine, and you'll see most results are related to Medik8 products, so I take it all with a pinch of salt. This is a very expensive product. Yes, it is effective, but I really don't think it's doing anything miraculous enough to warrant its price. The main ingredient is water, which should give you a clue as to how much it probably costs to manufacture. It's a very good, very expensive moisturiser, in my opinion. If it was half the price, I may've been kinder to it, but as that's not the case, I can't in all good conscience justify giving it a glowing review. I'd say, if you can afford it by all means give it a try. For anyone else though, stick to a regular cleanse/tone/moisturise regime and try to convince a loved one that it would make a great gift!

Good so far
Now I am fast approaching 30 although some people will still think this is very young I can genuinely say that I can physically see my skin changing and ageing before my own eyes! I have tried other retinol products in the past and they either don't make much difference or irritate my skin but I have been pleasantly surprised by this one (so far) it feels nice and silky on my skin and absorbs perfectly leaving no nasty residue or feel, my skin actually feels lovely and silly soft! I haven't seen any huge changes as of yet but it's only been a good few days however my skin is definitely looking a little more brighter and tighter so far and because of this I am most definitely intrigued to see how I lool after a good few weeks of use! Onwards and upwards and I think I've found a new fav!! It's definitely more expensive than others I've tried BUT it is so far the best so quality definitely wins here (not to mention it oozes that when you open it, lovely luxurious packaging on the offset) Off my use so far yes I would recommend.

Medik8 r-Retinoate Day & Night Eye Serum – Expensive Skincare Product but An Excellent Serum
This eye serum arrived in very premium gift packaging and would be a beautiful skincare present to receive. The bottle is contained within a heavyweight, flip open white cardboard box which is held together with magnetic closures and protected with its own cardboard sleeve which keeps it all together. There is also a comprehensive information leaflet included too. Unpacking this eye serum is an experience in itself and I think the presentation is definitely luxurious. The plastic pump dispensing bottle contains 15ml of product (so it is really small) and it has a nice lightweight consistency with a white colour and no discernible scent which is great for around the sensitive area of your eyes. It applies smoothly and readily absorbs into my skin without leaving any sticky or greasiness residues, leaving the delicate skin around my eyes feeling refreshed. It is free from any artificial fragrances. The clever serum combines various ‘technologies’ and the resultant serum focuses on vitamin A and its anti-ageing benefits. It uses the following ‘ingredients’ to help achieve smoother and more even skin as well as incorporating a moisture boost in order to leave your skin feeling soft: • Encapsulated retinyl retinoate which is x8 more powerful than standard retinol (exclusive to Medik8) • Hesperidin tackles the appearance of dark circles underneath your eyes, brightening the skin • Caffeine to reduce puffiness and improve the feeling of tired eyes • Hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate, smooth and visibly plump the skin The eye serum is suitable for sensitive skin and hasn’t cause any adverse reactions with use. The gentle serum effectively softens and smooths and I have really enjoyed using the product. The eye serum can be used either at night or in the morning due to the photostable formula, unlike most retinoid products and I have been applying it after my cleansing step. I thoroughly massaged the serum around the eyes (avoiding the eyelids as instructed) and finished by applying sunscreen before exposure to direct sunlight, as otherwise this can cause skin sensitivity. Do be sure to follow the instructions to ensure safe usage. Priced at £84.15 as a one-off purchase or £75.74 if you sign up to Amazon’s subscribe and save scheme at the time of reviewing, this is a premium skincare product and is an investment in your skincare routine, but I do actually think that it is making visible signs of improvement to the areas around my eyes, and the beautifully designed luxury packaging makes it a wonderful gift. So, if you afford it, I would definitely recommend this eye serum and the Medik8 range of products.

Unaffordable for most people
This eye serum looks very premium and its also beautifully presented in box. Also the plastic bottle looks special. The serum is fragrance free which is good. The serum is lightweight in consistency and it easily goes over the sensitive skin around the eyes. The serum absorbs very quickly leaving skin smooth and hydrated. Wife tried this serum for couple of weeks now and she likes it. However the 15ml will not last for long and I can't afford spending £90 for another serum. Wife will need to enjoy this product while it lasts, unless it will get down in price...

Premium Product At Premium Price
This is such a premium product from the packaging to the bottle. It's little surprise then that you'll find this brand adorning high end treatment centres. It certainly feels amazing when going on, but I have to question its effectiveness over and above cheaper brands. If I'm honest I get similar effects with something half the price, although I accept part of the price is from brand premium. I can't fault the serum itself, but may save this for a luxury item and stick to cheaper products that may be more day to day.
