My king size mattress has a pillow top and sits up on top of a box spring of nearly the same height. It's hard to find covers that drop down enough to hide both the mattress and box spring, but this one did. Unfortunately, it wasn't a very pretty cover. The color wasn't exactly the same as the photo and resembled denim more than the solid dusty blue that is shown in the photos. The material was also shiny and felt almost like plastic rather than something soft you'd like to snuggle under at night. It was also crazy thin and would not have provided much warmth. Returned it the same day it arrived.

Okay, so this coverlet IS truly big enough for king sized mattress, and more! The bed I purchased this for is a platform with very deep mattress. Actually washed & dried hoping to loose a couple of inches in that process - only lost just under a single inch all around. If you are purchasing for a non-platform bed, go ahead it’s big enough. This is a SUMMER bedding item. It’s very lightweight - a bit too much for my personal taste, but am using with an all cotton blanket. It looks OK - not expensive, but it’s not expensive and it’s size is an asset.

beautiful and does not make you too hot

I bought this for my my 4 GSDs to crash on in the kitchen, I chose the grey which does not show the dirt easily nor the fur shedding by my dogs. This is folded to the desired size and laid on top of a carpet where they can comfortably rest away from high traffic areas. Made of cotton, This can be cleaned in the washer without a problem.

This is a very lightweight comforter but just what I wanted. I had trouble finding the right size for my queen bed but this fits perfectly. Washes and dries nicely.
