I have no prior experience with face paint. I was really impressed with how easy this was to use. The colors were dense and were opaque with one application. It was easy to go over the white paint with colors and vice versa. The white paint would cover even the dark colors. It washed off very easily. I used a pre-moistened, makeup removing towelette. But my husband used regular soap and water.My only complaint is the strips of paint are very narrow. It's hard to keep the colors from bleeding together. I wish there were more occasions for face painting because it was so much fun!

I am a professional face painter and have purchased from Jest Paint in the past. They've always given me very prompt service. This set was shipped to me on December 2nd then I got it on December 6th. From Michigan to California, that's not bad. Their products are always carefully packaged, and I've never had any breakage, yet they also seem mindful about not using too much packaging. I like that.I have used some Fusion paints before and I like them. They seem very similar to Wolfe, TAG, or DFX. Fusion's vegan formula may be a big advantage with some clientsThis particular palette is called Rainbow Burst, and when I think of rainbows I normally think of primary colors.DRAWBACKS: While I like the color combinations A LOT, I think it is seriously missing a good true red. To my taste, the darkest colors in the yellow-to-dark-green cake, and in the orange-to-brown (flame) cake, are a little too dark, overwhelming the lighter colors. Although the flame cake would be ok if I were painting the flames really large, there really isn't enough yellow to maintain the brightness. You can see the swatch test photo that I uploaded. Note: The photo skews more toward blue than the actual colors are in real life. In real life they are quite bright. There are no UV paints in this set, which I like, because I prefer not to use UV on skin unless it's required for a UV event. The paints go on smoothly. The blue pan ( I think it's called Snow Queen) has a little bit of some kind of fluff or fiber in it but. That seems like it a minor batch problem, and not a problem across-the-board with this brand paint. There is a cautionary note that some specific colors should not be placed near the eye. But is that a generic warning four different pallets, or is it for specific colors in these pans? I don't know! But since face painters often place such colors near the eye, it would be very helpful to know which colors exactly are being used in each pan. I know that's like giving up a recipe, but at the same time, we should just know what the colors are named. So I feel like there should be an insert or label explaining what the names are. It would also be helpful to have color names for when it is time to replace the little pans, because some will be used more often and wear out more quickly than others.LOTS OF POSITIVE!: The colors are beautiful & each combo has potential for multiple design options.In summary, it's an excellent value for the money, and aside from needing more detailed labeling, slightly lighter colors and a true red-red, I think it'll be an extremely useful pallette.My experience with similar palettes is that they hold up to pretty hard use (I tend to drop things). so I probably won't need to replace the pallette case for a long time. But, I will definitely buy refills of the blue-to- burgundy and the fresh, lovely white-green-blue that will be useful both for pretty leaves and badass reptiles.

I have been painting professionally for six years and Jest Paint is my go to supplier for everything I need. Shipments arrive very quickly even when I am located in remote areas. (I travel for my regular day job.) I've never had any issues with the product not arriving quickly and in perfect condition. I also feel as though I can call them with any question at all about their products or the industry in general and they will always give me suggestions and help me find the answers I need.This is my first purchase of Fusion products and I couldn't be happier. I was able to test some of the colors out at a recent convention and was excited to see these split cake palettes as I don't use split cakes as much as other people. It is a great product for me because the palettes don't take up much room in my kit, and they have a large color spectrum. I am looking forward to adding more palettes to my kit so I can add variety for those times when I do use them. I am also very happy about the fact that I can order these split cakes individually if I find that I am using one more often than the others.There are two things I don't like about this palette.1.) The name of the cakes are not listed anywhere on the case or the individual cakes.2.) Two of the cakes contain colors that the FDA recommends not using around the eye area. I wish there was a way to mark these (as well as any other cake from any other manufacturer) so that I don't have to make mental note of this when I am on the job. Maybe they could pot them in a different color container?All in all I am pretty excited to add this to my kit and try out some new designs with these color combinations. Thank you, Jest Paint for being an excellent supplier yet again!

The colors are very vibrant and beautiful. Well pigmented and wonderful to use! We are face painters and absolutely recommend this product and will get more colors!We wasted money before on cheaper products, but with this you can't go wrong! This is a great price for great quality!

You definitely have to go through the paint with a more wet brush to get better pigments. Otherwise it's a beautiful pallet. I don't know how long it will last on the skin because I haven't tried it on my face yet
