Danby Silhouette 30" Stainless Steel Under-Cabinet Range Hood

It is the great product I need. And I like its design and functions very much. What made me to buy it when I was search for the similar products were: high flow rate (max. at 450 SCF), and the function of heat sentry design. After opening the package, the blowers design and a large opening space inside the hood (i.e. Large air way) and the indicator lights in the front for power, lights, filter, and blower speeds, and timer etc are good points of design. In addition, the height is about 1 ft (more than 6" higher than the other brands), which means it is more than 6" closer to the stoves, and increase suction capability for cooking "smoke". There are three speeds of suction flow rates. The highest flow rate is the bonus one (Note: not many other brands give you the specification of flow rates). The blower noise is similar to the fan noise in our house rest room. When testing, it is clear to see the cooking "smoke" be sucked into the hood. The price is right to me. In summary, my wife and I love this product, and will strongly recommend my friends to buy it.

This is awesome. I replaced a recirculating unit with this one which took me a while as I had to go through the wall and run solid vent pipe, but got it done. This thing rocks, I usually use it on the #2 setting and it is fine. If ai am cooking something that gets very smokey, the #3 setting is amazing. Yes, it is a bit loud, but well woth it as it cleans out the smoke in a hurry. My only complaint is that the 2nd time I wahed the screens in the dishwasher, one stained - not sure from what but it did. Other than that, love this unit!

Used this hood for our remodel. I chose it over the Broan as it seemed noise was an issue with that unit. This has been installed for about 3 months, Noise level is as expected. Lights are great ( 2 settings dim-think night light- and bright). Control is a little quirky as you need to power the unit on, then turn on light or fan. Seems you could just press the light or fan and skipped the whole power switch. However, the display is blue and looks great, overall quality of the unit is good. Would recommend to anyone. 4 vs 5 stars due to controls.

the fan is very noisy...and i'm not entirely sure how well it gathers the air. I can usually see smoke/steam, hitting the vents and then drifting over the front away from the unit.So, back to the noise. Its loud. there are 3 settings. setting 1 is loud...and 2 louder and so on.I only have non exhaust range hoods to compare to, so this whole review could be moot.There is also a constant buzzing that comes from the unit, when not in use. clearly something is running and not energy efficient.its nice, well made and looks great in our kitchen....but I wouldn't buy again.

Great vent hood! Looks nice and exhaust covers easy to remove and clean. Only drawback is will cut light and exhaust off when using after a certain length of time and have to reset. Good lighting on the stovetop.

The hood is a good product. It has quality construction; it's attractive; and it has good features. The only Reason I didn't give it five stars is because the back of it is not finished for exposure to view. If that doesn't matter in your application, don't hesitate to get one.
