Best night sleep! Pain to roll up! Memory foam - not typical "self-inflate"
Read below for instructions on rolling up!!! The description of the item didn't hit home to me until the item was shipped. When I saw the huge box, I thought there was a mistake... but... there wasn't. Initially disappointed, I opened the box & decided to try it out. First off, let me tell you what it is. it is a 4 inch memory foam mattress clad in a usual type air mattress with that fake suede top; however, this one isn't intended to be inflated... there are 4 screw valves at one end to let in/out air for packing. This is perfect for my 2 man tent & the back of my Excursion. It is called "truck bed" on the unit itself... guessing that's why it fits in my truck... I had the best night sleep camping I have ever had! Actually, had better comfort than my mattress at home.. no kidding!!! I typically use an air mattress, but they always pop and they are a pain to inflate to any decent firmness... they always need re-inflation by morning due to temp changes & they wick away heat from the body...Instructions!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!Unrolling & setting up for the first time is easy, you will be skeptical, but give it time to "self inflate" (meaning, unsquish) Open all 4 valves if you wish, but I'm certain one will do the trick... if it is warm out, the plastic cover will look like the picture soon enough.. if it is cold, this will take a bit longer. Close the valve(s) before use.Rolling it up:for my twin size, this is much easier with 2 adults helping. Start by opening all valves and begin squishing and rolling from the other end. It's memory foam, so, squishing is the right method... :) As you squish & roll, once you get a full tuck and roll of the end, use your knees to keep it in place. Try to start this process in the tent or truck so the valve end is up against something... you will be squishing & rolling very aggressively and it is good to have the valve end blocked from scooting away from you. Keep squishing & rolling. Take breaks to kneel on the rolled part to keep it squished. Once you get to the end, close all valves. NEXT::: UNROLL IT WITH VALVES CLOSED. Open one valve and as quickly as you can, repeat the squish & roll method pushing out as much air as you can through the one opened valve. Using one opened valve for the 2nd roll seemed to reduce to added air intake making it easier to start the re-roll process. Use the cinch straps provided and you should be able to get it back in the carrying cover. If you don't roll twice, and you think the cinch straps will do the trick, I'd say you run the risk of breaking the plastic cover and rendering the mattress almost impossible to roll up.Rolls up to about 12 inches diameter (more or less like a smaller sleeping bag) & as wide as you bought... my "twin" size is as wide as my Ford ExcursionUPDATE: Now, after about 15 uses, almost the entire end has opened up showing the memory foam guts, this thing is still a great night sleep, and is now even more of a beast to roll up & put back in the included case. The use of the cinch straps is a must and now this thing requires 2 adults to roll it up!!! plenty of effort!!! still best night, but the plastic is not welded very well & even if it were, it's the kinda crispy type that would surely fail anyway.

Rest Easy
Better than most. The "self inflating" aspect of the mattress works pretty well, as the foam returns to it's expanded size, it brings the mattress to about 2/3 max full. You can sleep on it with just the self inflation level of air, or you can go on to blow/pump more into it. I manually blew air into it, but there are 4 valves on the bottom if up to 4 people want to blow at once. They are large diameter valves that look like a standard mattress pump would fit. Some issues: when you inflate beyond the self inflation level, it starts to act more like a traditional air mattress, there are no baffles, so moving around up or down directly affects your partner, but at any air level of inflation, you never bottom out on it as hard as you would a mattress with no foam. The thing is WIDE, fully compacted and rolled up you will need the entire width of a sedan (hyundai sonata for us), or the length of a station wagon with a seat down to transport it.Rolling wasn't really an issue as the best technique is the same with all self inflating mattresses. As another reviewer noted: Roll once with valves open, close all valves while rolled, unroll and re-roll only opening a valve or two a the end of the second roll to let the remaining air out before closing the valves. Plenty of space in the travel bag with that approach. We've only used it twice, so no notes on durability, although it seems to be legitimately thick rubber, and they supply a patch kit. So we're not too worried.

Ahhhh, no more back pain in the mornings when camping :D
I've used air mattresses for camping years. Having developed some back problems, I was finding that while camping, I was starting to wake up with back pain from the sagging. Thus, I started looking for an alternative and came across the Kamp-Rite Double Self Inflating pad.My back is happy again. Unlike air mattresses, this pad is self inflating and foam filled, providing additional insulation in cold weather and the added firmness I needed. Some additional thoughts...The instructions say to open up the pad and let it expand for a few days when it is brand new. Follow the advice. When I got mine, I let it inflate for two days. I was a little concerned that it was taking a long time to inflate. Alas, camping time came and I deflated and rolled it up. At camp, it self-inflated rapidly. Nice!I've read a few comments about it being difficult to deflate, roll up, and put back in its bag. I've been using a 12V inflator / deflator to inflate then deflate my former air mattresses to get them to fit back into their bags. Although I don't need the pump to inflate the Kamp-Rite pad, it works great on deflating the pad for easy rolling it up and fitting in the bag with plenty of room to spare. The only possible detractor for some regarding the pad is when it is rolled up it's still pretty large - too large, in my estimation, for many car trunks. But it straps down okay to my roof rack so, for me, it's not a real issue.

Ripped before using it
Bought it and unrolled it to find a rip in it bigger then the patch provided. Would not recommend!
