Nice Fin
Put on a Yamaha F40hp outboard mounted on a 13' Boston Whaler. Greatly helped boat get up on plane and don't think it slowed it down. Boat ran 41.5 mph with one person and 2 tanks of gas. Great addition to the boat.

Quality and easy install
Just like my last one I bought for my Honda hp. Great purchase, small cost, big results. Put this on my Mercury 9.9. Love the ride change and hole shot it gives my 12 foot flat bottom. Easy install (10 minutes)

Wicked fast
I just installed this on my 15hp Yamaha. The Dinghy went from a turtle to a cheetah on plane. Love it!

We'll see
I don't know how well this will work in my application as I won't be able to try it out for a while. However, as far as the quality of the product goes, I like it very well 👍. The price is not horrible either. In case anyone was wondering, I mounted this to a 6hp tohatsu. Now, it dosen't fit this motor out of the package. It required a bit of fairly simple modification. The throat of the foil is too narrow to fit around the lower unit. But using a contour guage, a coping saw and a drum sander, I was able to make it fit like a glove, almost factory in fact. If anyone would like details on the procedure let me know. I also didn't use the factory holes. I had to put the holes in the cavitation plate where it made sense for the motor and I drilled new holes in the foil. For the 6hp tohatsu, your going to have to drill at least two new holes in the foil. I drilled 4 but in hindsight I think I'd have tried for only 2. At any rate, I got it mounted in about a hour and a half start to finish and I am very pleased with how it turned out. Just know it's not going to fit tohatsu 4,5,6 hp motors without modification.Update:So I use this 6hp on the back of my flat back canoe. Does this foil work for my particular application? After all, I'm trying to help bring the nose of the canoe down when I'm the only passenger in the boat. Let's put it this way. I don't hurt. I've tried trimming the motor a bit in addition to this foil. In the end, I end up filling a 7 gallon plastic water jug and placing it in the front of the canoe. With the trim setting, the foil and the 7 gallon water jug, the canoe planes very nicely and skips along real nice like. How MUCH of this is down to the foil is hard to say. I don't want to take it off the motor to test it out. But like I said, it certainly doesn't hurt. The foil almost certainly eats away at the top end speed due to drag. I get 10mph out of a 6hp motor with stock propeller on a 12' sportsman flatback canoe with carrying 450 lbs (which includes myself). Not horrible as far as canoes go, but you're not going to win any water speed records. The foil probably DOES help to plane the Canoe, though it's not "THEE" solution all by itself. But I strongly suspect that there is another benefit that I hadn't figured on. I sincerely expected the Canoe to be far more, squirrely and unstable than it is. As a matter of fact, at 5 to 10 MPH speeds, the canoe seems to handle exceptionally well. Way better than I could have hoped for. It's very stable and confidence inducing. The canoe feels very well planted and I can't help but think that foil has something to do with just how stable it feels. Again, I'm not removing the foil to test things out. It's difficult to quantify just how much the foil is doing for me. I suspect it helps with planning. I suspect it helps with stability at speed. And, I suspect it gobbles up at least a couple MPH on the top end. The only thing I can say with confidence is that the foil doesn't make the canoe handle poorly at all. So on the whole, I think I'm satisfied with it and I can't see any reason currently not to get one.Time will tell if it actually works.

Little scary to install but did the job!
I recently renovated a 1973 Starcraft that has a 20 hp mercury motor. First trial after installing and as I increased the throttle the nose would go up so I couldn't see and it was tough to get on plane. I'd open the throttle up all the way and the boat would get up to about 25-26 mph, but very quickly the boat would start porpoising.I was really nervous installing this. There's a few quick videos that show how to install the foil. The template was really helpful. Even with that my holes were slightly off, but the foil was forgiving and fit like a glove. Took less than 20 minutes to install. Now boat gets up on plane very easily, handles much smoother, I lost 1 or 2 mph on the top end, but no more porpoising. It did the job it was supposed to.

Instantly fixed my planing problem.
After putting a new kicker outboard on my Boston Whaler, the main 40 HP Yamaha 4 stroke always had a harder time getting on plane. Regardless of angle it still required over 15 mph to get the bow down. With the Sport 200 installed the was an immediate night and day difference in plane and performance. The bow now drops at less than 10 mph and there is no plowing whatsoever. I was concerned that the fin rating was up to 40 HP but this works better than expected. Even without the kicker I should have tried this year's ago. Installation was easy and all the provided hardware is stainless steel which is much appreciated in this salt water environment. There have been no issues since installation. The only consideration which should be obvious and not a concern of mine is that you cannot use this device if you have a hunged trolling plate installed.

Awesome
This product is great. I put it on my Tohatsu 20 HP and it eliminated the cavitation (ventilation). It also rides better and gets on plane fast.

Installed this on new Honda BF40
Had to modify to make it fit, didn’t get any performance increases as a matter of fact made my boat slower and less stable. Regret drilling 4 holes through 7000$ motor …

Very nice tail
I had a whale tale version on my 20HP that broke. I find this one looks much nicer and planes the boat just as fast or faster than the other version. The fins on the back help keep the engine straight so the torque doesn't pull the tiller nearly as hard as the previous tail. I will put this tail on my outboards going forward.
