So gratifying to finally fix a bunch of loose shutter slats.
We had cheap contractor grade shutters with a bunch of flapping, loose louvers. In the past we have paid someone to come fix them all but they charged something like $10 per louver. At the time we had young kids bouncing around so they got broken constantly and we just quit fixing them. Finally I watched a couple of YouTube videos and saw how easy it was to DIY. Ordered this kit and it was as easy as it appeared in the videos. The hardest part was separaing the staples - I used two pairs of pliers to hold each of the 'legs' of the clump of staples and twisted gently - the staples popped right apart. Also, the staple 'legs' were a little long for the holes in the louver slats so I just tapped them gently in with a hammer. Problem solved and they look so much better. Seriously one of the easiest and most rewarding home improvement projects ever.

Shutter is FINALLY fixed!!!
I had a broken louvre for over 4 years!!! It was broken from the frame and the metal piece had broken from the shutter arm. I needed 2 pieces and had no idea where or how I was going to fix this. The hubby wanted to help but heck no...it would have been destroyed. So I waited and finally I looked on Amazon. Within 5 minutes, I found what I was looking for. I have 3 inch shutters and they worked perfectly!!! Took about 10 minutes to get both pieces in . Be patient! It's not hard just have to get the pieces at the right level. I actually held the metal piece with needle nose pliers. Now, I have shutters that work perfectly! Why the heck didn't I look on Amazon 4 years ago!

Parts to fix plantation - no directions
These are the parts youll need but you may need to modify a bit. Their are two parts: one that looks like a long staple. This attached the blind to the slat that you use to open/shut. The other is a tiny plastic dowel that connects blind to shutter. It has a lip, which i had to remove as the originals had no lip and it woukdnt fit with it (was too long).

AMAZING!
I had 3 different shutters with issues. Some with a slat that came out and a few where the slats were no longer attached to the tilt rod. I got a quote from the company that installed them to do the repairs and it was $75 per blind because they said it was so labor intensive to remove the tilt rod to do the repairs. I purchased this kit and in about 15 minutes I had repaired all 3 blinds (without removing the tilt rod) and they looked as good as new. Plus I have plenty of parts left over to repair many more in the future. Worth every penny!

Perfect shutter repair kit
So many of you already know if you're looking to fix your shutters, you're almost forced to go to the home improvement store and buy a 1000 box of staples, not to mention the spring loaded rubber pins are tough to find. Rather than doing all that, this kit sums it up and includes everything you need. Some might say the staples are too long but that all depends on the thickness of the wood you're placing them into. Worst case scenario, you can just use a pair of pliers and snip some of the length off before using them. Just remember to use some powerful wood glue like maybe Gorilla to keep them in place and keep them from sliding out again.

WAA-LAA! Lookin' brand new again!
Holy cow! I had no idea that fixing my wood shutters would be so easy! I have been looking at my broken shutters for months now after my Saint Bernard decided to open them with his giant paw and broke the pins. I have been completely embarrassed about how trashy my home looked because of them dangling off the staple. Then my son did some research a few days ago and found this repair kit - WAA-LAA! A 2-second repair and they look brand new again! I would highly recommend!

I found this kit a waste of money
This repair kit is for very large shutters, not the kind that you use in windows inside. It's easier to use a nail from the side of shutter to make the louvres work and cover up the hole with putty and paint. I think the pins might have worked but I didn't need those. Sorry. I found this kit a waste of money.
