If the battery in your Roadmate is defective like mine was, this replacement package is a good deal. The enclosed video and tools were very helpful - changeout took me 10-15 minutes. Car GPS units are not designed to be handhelds and the batteries cannot power them very long, but during testing this replacement battery gave me a good one hour of usage before running out, which I consider better than most. I keep my GPS connected to the car power anyway, so the battery is only needed if I want to keep the GPS active when the car key is turned off.One note - the video did not clearly explain this, but the original battery is held in place with a sticky material. I first had some trouble removing the old battery, thinking it was held in place mechanically. You just need to pry it out with the tool they supply. The sticky material will hold the new battery in place.I recommend this battery package and the price was the same through Amazon as it was directly from the supplier.

I received the battery on time and loved the DVD and plastic tool. I could not have done without either. Well, actually I could have. This is my second battery. My only concern is with the battery itself. The first one lasted maybe a year (don't remember exactly) without getting much use. And of course it died on me when I needed it the most. I am hoping this one lasts a lot longer.

My Magellan RoadMate 1700's internal battery had not been strong, even when new (3 years ago), and it didn't hold its charge when shut down. The other day, I got a battery warning after a short trip, during which it was under continous charge. So, I did a search, found, and ordered the NewPower99 battery replacement kit. It came in quick, well packed and complete, as described. The supplied plastic pry tool included made opening the Magellan's case easy. The included DVD showing the proceedure, which is also on youtube, was very helpful. Bottom line, I did the work in about 30 minutes, and the nav system's new battery is working better that the original.

This is my third battery from New Power 99. I have several GPS units for varying applications. Each was purchased used. With New Power 99's great videos, the tools included with the battery, it was extremely easy to swap out the battery. If you have a GPS and don't know how to replace the battery, get this kit from Amazon and follow the step-by-step instructions in the included video DVD and the job is very easy.You can't go wrong with New Power 99!

Ordered this as requested by my very independent 84 yr old dad. He has a GPS in his new car but prefers his original Magellan. He really liked having the needed tools and the DVD all in one kit. He said the DVD was helpful in a tricky part but he could replay the video as often as needed and was therefore able to take care of the replacement himself. Worth every penny.

Fit Perfectly and works like a charm but I paid $5 to have it installed by my watch battery guy so I didn't need the CD or the tools
