108 Standard Wash Fragrance Free, Eco Clean Laundry Detergent Powder, 2.73 Lbs

This detergent seriously, seriously ROCKS!! I LOVE IT! It is absolutely the most effective detergent I have ever used and to top it off, it also is toxin free and eco friendly! I am constantly trying new products but I have been using this for years and will continue to do so. Before Savvy Green, I was buying big plastic jugs of detergent every few weeks. It was terrible for the environment, really expensive, and they are full of hazardous chemicals. When I was pregnant with my first child a few years ago, I switched all my products to ones that were "green." Green clothing detergents that are effective are very difficult to come by especially considering my family is constantly getting sweaty, stinky, and dirty! Enter Savvy Green....this detergent leaves my clothes clean and deliciously fresh smelling, like they've been outside hanging on a clothesline. You only need 1 to 2 teeny tiny scoops of detergent (this scoop is crazy small!). And you know what else is awesome? You no longer need to use ANY fabric softener and clothes are even fluffier than before! One less step (not to mention the elimination of my personal pet peeve of finding those dang used dryer sheets all over!)....Recently, I emailed the company and was sent a personal email reply from one of the co-founders. She was very gracious and thoroughly answered a question I had regarding the ingredients. If you are thinking about trying this product, do it. I promise that you won't be disappointed!

I generally do not like powder laundry detergent. But I was looking for an affordable green laundry detergent and stumbled upon this product. I visited the products website and really like their story and the fact they were a US based small-business. I was skeptical that this product was going to be as good as advertised. But it is! You use such a small amount and your clothes are spotless and SO SOFT without using softener. The website states that after using the product a few times, it will rid your clothes of old chemical residue from other detergents and leave your clothes feeling softer than ever. They were not lying. I like the fact that this is a truly environmentally friendly product and that I am supporting a small business. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone... try the dishwashing detergent too! It's as fantastic as the laundry detergent. I will be a faithful purchaser of Savvy Green products!

So far, I have done three loads of laundry using the Savvy Green Laundry Detergent. It worked well on my towels (and actually got that slightly moldy smell out of my wash cloth) as well as my fine washables. This means that I no longer have to purchase different detergents for my regular wash and fine washables. It is also costs less per load and takes up less space. The zipper on the pouch works great and the bag contains a small spoon so you know exactly how much detergent to put in your wash. In addition, it made the inside of my washer look cleaner after the first load. How fantastic to find something that is good for my clothes, my pocketbook, and the environment!

I wish it had a mild, clean scent. I know that might ruin it for others with sensitivities, so I understand the lack of fragrance....but I do like my clothes to SMELL clean. That is the only con I have found with this detergent. We are an athletic family, and we have lots of sweaty, muddy clothes with grass and dirt stains. I use Puracy stain remover, Oxo brite oxygen cleaner, and 1 to 1 1/2 scoops of Savvy Green detergent, and this combination gets clothes cleaner than anything else I've ever used. I also have eco friendly, scented liquid detergents, but I find myself reaching for this with almost every load, because this cleans well and removes odors from synthetics...really happy with this product. Maybe important to note I have a HE front loader. Friends complain about their front loaders smelling funky. I have had mine for several years, and do about 7 loads a week - no funky smell in my washer, maybe this detergent helps.

I didn't get around to using this soon enough to return. I used it a couple of times and hated it. I stopped using it, shoved it behind some other detergent, and moved on. I accidentally used it again recently and nothing smells clean or fresh. Whatever the opposite of clean and fresh smells like, that's what my clothing smells like. I know it's hard if you have to avoid fragrance and you're trying hard to avoid dangerous chemicals. Kudos for their eco-friendly efforts, but I'm ready to give this bag away and move on! Ugh!

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this detergent! I've had success using less than the recommended amount in HE washing machines, so it goes even further if you've got one of those. But the number one reason I love this detergent is how effective it is in cold/cool water. Most of my clothes are cotton or cotton blend, so I prefer cooler temps for preserving the integrity of the fibers. Problem is, most detergents won't fully dissolve in HE machines if you use cool water, leaving residue behind. This is the *only* detergent, green or popular commercial brand, liquid or powder, that rinses clean. My clothes are clean and fresh, fragrance-free, as soft as the day they were purchased, and they simply stay nicer longer. I don't worry anymore about dyes fading, clothes shrinking, or other sartorial tragedies wrought by inadequate detergents. Which is 99.99% of them! Believe me, I've tried everything.

I love Savvy Green. I usually have to buy detergent once a week. I started using Savvy Green around October 20 when I received my 2 bags (free super savings shipping with 2 bag purchase). It is December 9 and I still have one bag left. Not only that I do not have a collection of empty plastic bottles sitting in my tiny laundry room. Now I have a well designed, beautiful little bag sitting nicely on my tiny little shelf. We are a very athletic family, living in Florida, so we use lots of sunscreen and sweat a lot. Savvy Green gets the the stinky sweat smell out, gets the discoloration from sunscreen out and the clothes seem very clean and bright. In the beginning I was tempted to use more than the suggested one scoop, but I am learning, more is not better. I will reorder Savvy Green again. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

***Edited to add that the next bag of this that came after I wrote the review below was a different formula than the one I originally reviewed, and I wouldn't give the new formula more than 3 stars. It doesn't clean like the one I had been getting, and isn't all natural now. So disappointing, since I thought I had finally found the one!*** We purchased a "HE" top loading washer 2 years ago, and within a few months of use, it was stinky and telling us we had to purchase separate cleaner packets to clean it. o_0 Well, for one, who knows what chemicals those things have in them, and for 2, why should I have to pay more money to use a washer that is supposed to save me money to begin with? So I (again) researched natural detergents and found Savvy Green. I was a bit skeptical because we had tried another natural detergent that worked fine in our old washer at our old home, but either this washer didn't like it, or the water where we are now didn't, and it stopped cleaning our clothes well. The rave reviews and great cents per load price of SG drew me in though, and I gave it a chance. Within 2-3 loads, our washer no longer smelled, and our clothes come out clean and "fresh" smelling! And even better, my youngest daughter's skin irritations have lessened since the switch! I'm really picky, so to get a 5 star review from me says something. ;)
