Its very strong
What I know is that my 60lb dog can't break it, he can't chew through it, what I do not know if this material will rust. I only use it when I am going to a service project and I need my two hands to help plant native trees and cut down destructive trees from our eco system. My dog is not trained to be a guard dog, he is a service dog and as much training he has when he is off the leash then it becomes his time. This review is for domesticated dogs that can not survive without a human being.

Good for what I need
This chain is good for my needs. I NEVER leave my dogs chained outside so I'm not sure how this would be at doing that. I just tie my dog out when I want him in the front yard with me while I'm doing yardwork, etc. I have a 8 month old 70lb pit bull and this seems to hold him. The only thing is he found a way to slip out of his harness one day so I can't really say the swivel clips work that well. If you occasionally want to tie your dog out this is okay BUT you should never tie your dog up permanently. Anyways works well for my needs.
