Um something must be wrong with my one.
Clearly the one I got is defective , I have hands of steel yet I can't close mine , I think the xmas elves have been playing around with labels and stuck the wrong one on mine :-)Aside from that - these things are great - suggested rules for deciding what to buy belowRule 1) If you are going to buy only one , Choose the strength you are 100% sure you can squeeze , then buy the one below :-)Rule 2) When you have ignored rule 1 , ordered the one you thought you could squeeze , received it and failed miserably , read Rule 1 againClearly I didn't read my own rules :-)As an aside for any Climbers who may be reading this - having uber strong fingers and hanging off micro edges has little to no carry over into how strong you will be on these ( search on Reddit for more info ) , thus rule 1 :-) . Its debatable if getting strong on these will help your climbing , I use it more for warming up and for off days and stick to a hangboard for actual tangible gains.Hope this helps , if so please hit helpful below to inspire me to continue writing reviews :-) Thanks

Awesome grippers
Speedy delivery & packaged just fine - especially good that they can be posted through the letterbox.I’ve had all sorts of different grippers over the past couple of decades, almost all pretty cheap & very, very easy to close repeatedly. A couple of years ago I bought a ‘heavy grip’ that was a cheap imitation of the Captains of Crush. It was apparently rated at 200lbs, which I couldn’t quite close fully, so I was looking to find something to help build up to it.I must admit that I was drawn to the CoC grippers via some YouTube videos where they were testing folks grip strength (Jujimufu, Brian Shaw, Brian Alsruhe...) & decided to go for the CoC #1, since I figured I was already close to getting 200lbs, so 140lbs should be easy...Guess again.Well, I still loved the quality of this gripper, so almost immediately ordered the Trainer, to give me a lighter weight to warm up with.Pleased that I could then close that (100lbs), but decided to round things out by also ordering the Guide (60lbs), as my wife & kids were also now interested in getting their grip stronger, but they could hardly budge any of the heavier grippers. The lightest two were a bit squeaky, but that was soon remedied with some 3-in-1 oil application. We’ve also now got some really light squishers & finger bands for extensions tooOverall, we’d definitely recommend the CoC family of grippers.

Love it
Great gripper, very well made I started on the T and upgraded to the 0.5 this week, I can close the 0.5 6 times on each hand easily but want to get to 12 ‘click’ closes before I move to the 1.Two points -1- they hurt your fingers real bad when you first start using them, even give you blisters in pinky and 3rd finger BUT just keep working and they heal up real quick and you have small calluses and you can’t feel any blister pain after 1 month.2- they squeak! Get a small can of wd40 from Poundland ... for a pound , and spritz the coil once a month and it won’t squeak at all.

They work
I've noticed a quick improvement using the beginners programme recommended by the included instruction booklet. I started on G(uide) and T(rainer) but found that too difficult, and bought a S(port) as an in-between, worried I'd injure myself. That quickly improved though and after a week or so I'm finding I can close the T and use the others to warm-up. I'm also using "ripper bands" from a cheaper supplier to work the opposite set of muscles. I'm not sure how far I'll get into the numbered grips, but I'm not a weight lifter & am already happy with the results. The rough metal grips/handles wreck your skin – but that's an added feature if you're building up thicker skin / callouses for bouldering or whatever other activity.

Excellent quality
Ordered the trainer, quickly discovered I was probably better off going for the 1.0! Not my fault though and if I was fussy enough i'm sure they would refund/exchange without any issues. Excellent quality, I've owned a few grippers in the past but after watching Juji etc on youtube try these out they have done nothing but sing their praise. high quality gripper that will probably outlive the customer. Not hesitating to recommend these to friends and strangers alike!

Great!
Great product! If you are serious about upping your grip strength, then these CoC grippers will help! I love strength training & treat grip like any other muscle group. I always wanted to try these & after buying a number 2.5 am so glad I did. I can close it to an inch of fully closing so it is tough!! When I can fully close so handles touch for 10 consecutive reps each hand I will buy the number 3 & hopefully get certified! on it too!. I do 2 warm up sets of 10 reps on a 150lb Strength Shop gripper then do 2 sets of 4 reps twice a week at the moment (will up soon) & already notice a better grip. Combined with the other exercises I do for grip I am confident the CoC grippers will take my grip to new levels that without I would never achieve. Yes the knurling bites but come on, man up peeps!! ;)

Great value for money
I placed an order for the Captains of Crush hand grippers because I had 40kg hand grippers that were too easy to train with and I wanted to take my grip strength to a higher level, I researched various brands and the Captains of Crush brand was the stand out option, when I placed the order with Valhalla fitness, (despite being a busy time of the year) the order arrived in double quick time and the product was in perfect condition, when I tried using the grippers it was apparent the excellent quality of the item and the required grip strength was up a step up, overall I consider the purchase great value for money and when I look to buy another hand gripper I would look to order again from Valhalla fitness
