AVU2930W Aluma Vue Patio awnings, 28-3/4-Inch(Height) by 30-Inch(Width), White

These awnings look just like the other ones for sale on the awning retailer sites but they are much cheaper in price - about 1/2 the price. The hardware was easy to install. The actual awning "strips" were a little more tedious to insert into the hardware but that is a job that is once and done. I would recommend for awnings that are longer in length like the ones we purchased that two people work on this project together. We had smaller awnings for our other windows to install which came with our house when we bought it and my husband was able to put those up himself. My only improvement would be to offer more color choices in the larger sizes. The color I purchased was not my first choice but still it looks good with the neutral siding on my house. The awnings do the job of filtering sunlight and keeping the house cooler and did keep our the rain last week during one of our rare rain storms.

I love that the sun's rays are stopped while one can see through the awning to some extent. Air, wind, passes through without putting any stress on the awning. It gives the interior a softer light, and greatly reduces the heat. Installation was not difficult, and the unit is very secure.

I have 7 of these that I purchased over the past 4 years. The oldest still looks like new. I don't have any trees to block the sun on the south side of my house so it gets awfully hot. These awnings help immensely but still allow a good view and let light in better than a solid one.

A bit brittle but after installing, looks great and does the job.

This light weight and easy to install awning is the perfect answer to my sun baked bedroom windows. I previously used a coolaroo exterior shade which helped but the sun still hit the window during the hottest time of the day. This has eliminated the sun shining on the window and has helped to reduce the inside temperature. I wanted to see how it would work and since it passed the test, I'm going to order another for my remaining southwest side window. The customer service is excellent as I had a question and was answered immediately.

At first inspection these seem flimsy, but after they're assembled they'll stand up to very strong winds. My first set showed up damaged and after one phone call to the mfg. I had replacement parts in a few days. The instructions are vague, so it helps if you're handy with tools and mechanical concepts because how you put them up is part logic and part preference. I have huge Western exposure windows and the heat load was more than my heat pump could handle. We tried solar film on the windows, and solar screens but it wasn't enough. It was either, buy a bigger heat pump or try this solution. The difference now is really noticeable in the late afternoons. and I expect it soon be noticed on my cooling bill. These work great and my blinds stay open now so we get to enjoy the view.

While customer service is decent. The product alone must keep them busy. The material being so thin allows for damage during shipment to be almost expected. Replacements came and luckily there was a mix-up and 2 of the 3 were ok. As far as install......they snap on alright but bend at the attach point. Will be requesting a refund or complete replacement as it looks terrible.

So easy to install once I comprehended what I needed to do. Great product and has held uo to some might strong winds.
