Silent - yet again
Latest Update: After 8 months of use (several times a week) I've been very happy with this spinning bike. It has provided a very even sense of resistance with smooth transitions between resistance levels. The electronic resistance is a big plus. Great value!Old review: Sadly, after assembling the 510ic and moving the bike into position in our home gym, it began to make a clanking noise 20 minutes into the inaugural spin. Prior to that it felt great and the display was exactly what I was looking for in this type of equipment.Amazon is replacing the 510ic which is good, but still a hassle as it needs to be disassembled and repacked. Hopefully we'll have better results with the replacement - second times a charm?Update - we have had a great experience with the replacement. Great even ride and very low noise. The console is very effective and a great motivator. My only complaint is the location of the bottle holder. I'll post again after I get several months of use on it.

Frayed belt
When I received the "cycle", there was a defect in the display. After a couple interactions with customer service, they sent me a new display. Months later, I noticed rubber "shavings" appearing under the bicycle. I hoped that it was type of adjustment with the inner belts, which would take care of itself. "Shavings" appeared several more times. The last time, I could hear scraping coming from inside the cycle. I contacted customer service twice and did not receive a response either time. I decided to investigate myself and attempted to open the "cycle". I couldn't figure out how to remove the pedal, so I was only able to open the case 5-6 inches. However, I could clearly see that one of the belts is frayed on one side. I couldn't see well enough inside to determine what was causing the fraying. There were a lot were shavings inside the "cycle". There are 5 or 6 grooves on the wheels that the belt runs over and shavings had been packed into the grooves, preventing the belt from sitting in the grooves correctly. Fortunately, with a lot of effort given the limited access, I was able to clear the grooves. The bike is currently working correctly, although, I'm guessing I'm going to have to go through the "clean-up" process, again, eventually. Hopefully, the belt doesn't suffer so much damage that it breaks. Overall, it's a pretty sturdy bike. Although, the display is fairly low-quality and can be difficult to read from the angle I prefer to ride, the information it displays is useful. Fingers crossed, the belt lasts.

Great exercise bike for an at home cardio work out.
I've been using this bike for two weeks now & it's great. I been pedaling on it an hour every day.It did have a little clicking kind of noise when i started my first session but I put isolating ear buds on and couldn't hear it. By the time I got done with my first hour, the noise was gone and its been quiet & smooth since.I like the electronic control. It sets up easily; I use the manual mode at level 10.The control's case has a plastic hook of sorts at the bottom that I can set my tablet on to read but that means the control is completely covered up. I would really like another option for holding a device or book while using it.One point about assembly. When attaching the electronic control to the handle bar, take care to insure all the wires are in the center channel made for them so the control sits flush on its mounting frame. Not doing this will mean the cables could be pinched and the control will not sit square with its mounting bracket. That will be important if you want to use the hook at the bottom for holding a tablet as I do.

Package arrived in excellent condition - had to break free seat stem with a mallet and wooden block otherwise assembly was fine. I am 6' 190# and find the bike comfortable enough with handlebars in the farthest position (definitely hassle to loosen/reattached 4 bolts to adjust as others have noted) . The seat does dig in after a while - gel seat or padded cycling shorts recommended. Not a fanatic cyclist & find the resistance levels to be just fine and I like the preprogrammed resistance rides. Bike does start making an intermittent "clacking" sound on every revolution of the wheel - comes and goes after a few minutes - does not affect performance - just irritating. Have yet to look into the cause or contact the manufacturer. Don't know why the "start" button is red and "stop" button is green... overall gives a great workout.

Great buy
I was really torn between getting a indoor bike vs a trainer from my road bike. I decided to go with the indoor bike and absolutely love it. The product was delivered very intact and no visible damage on the packaging or the contents inside. Assembly went fairly smoothly but the comments from other reviews were correct about connecting the handles to the riser bar. It is a very tight fit and took a bit of manipulation to get the holes lined up. I wasn't too worried about how the wiring fed through the frame but some caution is necessary because there are some sharp edges and opportunities to cut or jam the wires. Has a comfortable saddle and I like the positioning options for the seat and handle bars. I'm 5'9 and the bike fits me well, my wife is 5'4 and with the seat all the way down is just short enough. I don't know if it would fit anyone much shorter? It is super quite and hardly even notice any noise and the pedal stroke and fly wheel is very smooth. Having the magnetic resistance was one of the main reasons I wanted to go with this bike and it hasn't disappointed. A very smooth and natural feel, but the only comment is when you change resistance on the computer it releases some of the pressure before changing to the desired number. Not too big a deal but when you are in the higher resistance range it takes away a bit of the flow. I find the number on the computer indicating resistance is about 75% of what the actual %slope would be on a ride (for me anyways). I had read the highest resistance wasn't tough enough for some riders. When I get up in the higher resistance range (14 to 16) I definitely need to get out of the saddle, and it feels quite natural. Computer was tough to get used to at first but getting the hang of it after a few workouts. Really enjoy using some of the pre-programmed riding sequences. All and all really satisfied.

Choose a different bike...
When this bike is working, it's all good. No major complaints. I'm no spin bike expert, don't need anything ultra snazzy, and it meets my needs well. Unfortunately, I've owned it for about 8 months now, and it was only operational for the first two months. After the first two months the left pedal detached from the crank arm and couldn't be repaired. I'd read good things on here about Diamondback's customer service, so felt hopeful that I could get it resolved. Indeed, they readily agreed to send me the necessary replacement parts for free, but it took SIX MONTHS of hassling them and following up to actually make it happen. Finally, the parts arrived, and one is completely misshapen and cannot be installed on the bike. Now starting the process of following up with their customer service yet again...not worth the hassle. I chose this bike for the electronic module - if you want an electronic module, do yourself a favour a choose a slightly pricier model from a better company.
