My Androgynous Boyfriend Vol. 1

The art is cute, the characters are cute, the story is cute. If you're looking for a cute manga to read, you found it. The two main characters are SUPER in love and it's honestly heart-warming to read. Each chapter mostly revolves around some aspect of their daily life with very little drama, in a way that's refreshing rather than dull. I'm looking forward to the next volume.A note for readers interested in this because of the potential non-binary/queer content: your mileage will vary on whether this contains any queer content, depending on how you define "queer content." In this volume at least, the titular androgynous boyfriend is presented as someone who has atypical gender presentation/fashion sense rather than a non-binary identity. Presentation =/= identity and everything in the story so far seems to indicate he identifies as a straight man. That may change/be clarified in future volumes though. There is also another androgynous boy character, but not enough is known to determine how he identifies. (Although there was a small hint that character may be aro-ace?)However, if you consider "queer" to broadly mean existing/behaving outside society's expectations for gender/sexuality, then this would certainly qualify. And I do think that non-binary/queer readers may enjoy this anyway simply because the main character has so much fun dressing in a way he enjoys despite expectations.Anyway, so far at least, the only overtly queer content is strangers assuming the main couple are lesbians or assuming that the male lead must be gay. So just FYI if you are going into the series with queer expectations!

I love this! I've never before been big on shojo before, but decided to try it out on a whim and am so happy I did! I honestly did not know I needed this in my life. The relationship seems unorthodox, but seeing two people so madly in love with each other makes me forget how lonely my own dating life is. The misunderstandings are so funny and I love the light-heartedness of everything. It's like eating a waffle cone. Filling enough to make you full, but not heavy enough to make you feel bloated. I'll definitely be getting the next volume ♡

Really heartwarming to see this cute couple navigate their days and living together. Really wish we got to see them more as a couple, but I do like getting to know them separately. Loving this story and looking forward to the rest!

Yikes! That other male model is cold. I mean frozen in the Antarctic cold. Don't like him. Now the protagonists, they, I adore. He's so cute, in a very feminine way, and she boldly beautiful as well. I rather enjoyed this volume. I look forward to the next. I am pleased to see a serious gender-bending manga that doesn't revolve around the main protagonist being gay/asexual/pansexual. Finally a true-to-life look at how many androgynous men really are - fully heterosexual. Not that there's anything wrong with being gay, it's just, that story line has been done so much to the point it's become a stereotype. I applaud the author of this series. Very well done. Art, amazing. Dialogue, fantastic, very nice. Characters, believable, likeable, relatable, adorable.

To be honest I don’t think this series has to be more than one volume so I don’t think I’ll buy the second one. Didn’t leave me on a cliffhanger either. It’s fun to see different kinds of people that don’t usually typically fit in with how society views normal people living normal lives

This manga has a strong genderbent theme running throughout and acknowledges queerness in a lot of different ways—and it never does it in a way to make fun of people. It also tackles the issues of stereotypes and people’s assumptions about what a man or what a woman should be. This manga is a love-story to the people who do not fit the heteronormative lifestyle.It isn’t heavy-handed, nor is it all fluff. There is a balance the author has to strive for without overdoing their core concept. They pull it off fairly well.

A really cute and funny manga about a couple living in Tokyo. I am looking forward to the next volume.

I love their relationship it’s so pure and sincere! The art is beautiful too. It’s nice to read when you would like to relax.

Uma história fofa e leve mostrando vários momentos do casal. Adoro caras que gostam de coisas fofas e “femininas” e cuidam de sua imagem então estava bem curiosa com o livro, foi bem legal!

As an endogenous nonbinary person I'm really loving all these new Mangas that are coming out. This book is larger than your average manga (larger in diameter) and is terrif so far. I've already ordered the next one

Ordered this along with another manga and it came in about a week. Pretty fast shipping for not being a prime member (although now I am). I read the manga and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Still not too sure if I want to continue the series as I want to finish collecting my other not-complete series.
